As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer s business goals, needs and general business environment. You will work with product management, other engineering teams, customer success and support on developing cutting edge new product features and enhancements across various areas of Boomi offerings.
This role is within the Advanced Support Engineering team which is uniquely positioned with responsibilities in both customer support as well as in software development. The team is responsible for Tier 3 customer support cases. As part of this role, you will investigate the most challenging customer issues, perform deep investigation into the product code base to identify root cause and assist with resolution of issues.
The Advanced Support Engineering team develops software changes across all Boomi products with a focus on improving the supportability of the products. You will also develop tools for direct delivery to customers in order to assist with their usage of the products.




The Advanced Support Engineer must demonstrate skills and interest in both software development as well as customer issue resolution.
What You Will Do
- Be a key part of the full product development lifecycle of software applications offered by Boomi
- Investigate and resolve complex customer issues; maintain high customer satisfaction
- Work independently with a moderate level of guidance from engineering management
- Work comfortably within a high pressure setting
- Design, implement and unit test changes to Boomi products including enhancements, defect fixes and/or configuration adjustments
- Recommend best practices and techniques to customers
- Research, validate and recommend key solutions
- Mentor other Boomi engineers, including design collaboration and code reviews
- Be an active member of an Agile team, collaboratively realizing features through continuous development, test and delivery
