We are looking for a highly skilled Email Server Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in building, managing, and optimizing SMTP environments for large-scale bulk emailing. The ideal candidate will have robust experience with SMTP server setup, IP/domain warmup, email deliverability optimization, IP rotation systems, spam detection & policy implementation, and hands-on experience with cloud-based email services like Amazon SES as well as self-hosted SMTP infrastructure.
This role involves designing and maintaining high-performance emailing systems that ensure maximum inbox delivery, compliance with global email standards, and robust systems for monitoring and preventing abuse or spam triggers.

Key Responsibilities
1. SMTP Server Setup & Management
● Build, configure, and manage dedicated SMTP servers for bulk email delivery (Postfix, PowerMTA, Exim, Haraka, or similar).
● Setup and maintain self-hosted mailing infrastructure, including MTA configurations, queue optimization, and throughput scaling.
● Implement IP rotation, IP pools,



and routing strategies to maximize deliverability and distribute email load.
2. Email Deliverability Optimization
● Develop and manage domain & IP warmup processes to build sender reputation.
● Monitor and optimize deliverability to major ISPs (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL, etc.).
● Troubleshoot deliverability issues including bounces, blocklists, and spam folder placement.
● Configure SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI, rDNS, TLS, and other authentication protocols.
3. Spam Detection & Policy Implementation
● Implement spam filtering rules, compliance policies, feedback loops (FBLs), and monitoring systems.
● Maintain compliance with global emailing policies (CAN-SPAM, GDPR mailing guidelines, ISP-specific regulations).
● Proactively detect and respond to deliverability issues, spam score changes, and blacklisting events.
