The Senior Director, Software Engineering is the enterprise technical leader for
contemporary software engineering. This role works in close partnership with the
Senior Director, Software Development Practices Transformation and the
Enterprise AI R&D; Product Director to unify engineering, practices, and
AI-enablement into a consistent, scalable, and compliant approach.

This leader combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with strong influence
and credibility, constructively challenging norms and inspiring engineers and
leaders to adopt common, modern, high-performing ways of developing SaMD, SiMD,
platforms, and shared components.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Roles Responsibilities:

* Define and maintain enterprise software engineering patterns and reference
approaches
* Shape consistent engineering approaches for services, data, UI, and platform
components that embed security, quality, and compliance. Enables faster
starts, reduced variability, and improved interoperability across teams.
* Advance software reliability engineering (SRE) practices
* Guide adoption of reliability-focused engineering including service-level
indicators, incident learning, and modern operational practices. Improves
availability, reduces field defects, and lowers operational burden.
* Translate regulatory expectations into practical team-level engineering
methods
* Ensure engineering teams can apply standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 14971,
IEC 82304-1, and AAMI TIR45 in a lightweight, iterati
