Role & responsibilities
1. Site Safety Management
Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved safety procedures and methodstatements.
Ensure implementation of the Project HSE Plan and company safety policies at site.
Proactively identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
Maintain strong field presence and continuously monitor site activities.
2. Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for construction activities.
Prepare and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
Identify hazards associated with civil construction, excavation, lifting, scaffolding, work at height,concreting, demolition and other high-risk activities.
Ensure appropriate control measures are implemented before commencement of work.
Participate in risk assessment reviews whenever there are changes in scope, method or siteconditions.
3. High-Risk Construction Activities
Closely monitor high-risk activities including:

Working at Heights
Excavation and Trenching
Scaffolding
Lifting & Material Handling
Reinforcement and Structural Works
Formwork/Shuttering
Concrete/Batched Concrete Operations
Electrical Works
Hot Work
Confined Space Work
Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Movement
Ensure necessary safety precautions and permits are in place before commencement of high-riskactivities.
4. PPE & Safety Compliance
Enforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ensure workers are provided with appropriate PPE based on job hazards.
Monitor PPE compliance and take corrective action for violations.
Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment, access arrangements, barricading and warningsignage.

Safety Induction & Training
Conduct site safety induction for new employees, workers, contractors and visitors.
Conduct regular Toolbox Talks / Tool Box Meetings.
Conduct job-specific safety briefings before high-risk activities.
Promote safety awareness and develop a positive safety culture among workers and supervisors.
Maintain records of safety training, inductions and toolbox talks.
6. Safety Inspections, Audits & Monitoring
Conduct daily, weekly and periodic safety inspections.
Participate in internal and client safety audits.
Track safety observations and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Monitor compliance with approved safety procedures, permits and work methods.
Prepare inspection reports and communicate critical observations to project management.
7. Incident, Accident & Near-Miss Investigation
Immediately respond to accidents, incidents and near-misses.
Conduct investigation to determine root causes.
Prepare incident/accident and near-miss investigation reports.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor implementation and closure of corrective actions.
Promote near-miss reporting and proactive hazard identification.
8. Compliance, Documentation & Reporting
Ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Health & Safety laws, statutory requirements,client requirements and company HSE procedures.
Maintain safety registers, inspection records, training records,
incident reports and other HSEdocumentation.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly safety reports and MIS.
Maintain records of safety observations, corrective actions, permits, toolbox talks and inspections.
Support project management during client inspections and statutory audits.
9. Permit to Work (PTW)
Implement and monitor the Permit to Work system.
Verify permits before commencement of applicable high-risk activities.
Ensure required safety precautions and isolations are implemented.
Coordinate with supervisors, contractors and project management for safe execution of permittedactivities.
10. Contractor & Workforce Safety
Monitor safety performance of subcontractors and contractors.
Ensure contractor workers comply with project HSE requirements.
Conduct contractor safety induction and toolbox talks.
Identify unsafe practices and ensure corrective action.
Coordinate with supervisors and subcontractors to improve site safety performance.
Preferred candidate profile
Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Safety, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalentqualification.
Skilled safety qualification/certification such as NEBOSH, ADIS, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent willbe preferred.
35 years of hands-on experience in construction safety.
Candidates with experience in industrial construction, mining, infrastructure, roads, buildings,plant construction or large-scale civil projects will be preferred.
Strong practical knowledge of construction safety practices and applicable statutory requirements.
