We are seeking a highly motivated Linux Engineer to join our Automotive & Embedded Software team. The engineer will be responsible for developing and integrating Open Source Linux solutions based on the Yocto Project, Linux Kernel, and Xen Hypervisor for next-generation AMD embedded and automotive platforms.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Linux BSP development, Yocto integration, system bring-up, virtualization technologies, and open-source software development. The role involves working closely with platform, graphics, firmware, and virtualization teams to deliver production-quality software for automotive and industrial products.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Yocto BSPs and custom Linux distributions for AMD embedded platforms.
- Integrate and customize Yocto layers, recipes (.bb/.bbappend), package groups, and build configurations.
- Enable and validate Linux kernel features on new AMD SoCs and platforms.
- Work on Xen Hypervisor integration, Dom0/DomU enablement, device passthrough, and virtualization features.
- Debug system-level issues involving boot flow, ACPI, IOMMU, PCIe, power management, interrupts, memory management, and device drivers.
- Integrate graphics, multimedia, camera, audio, networking, and virtualization stacks into Yocto images.
- Develop and maintain Linux device drivers and kernel patches.
- Participate in upstreaming activities for Linux kernel, Yocto, Xen, QEMU, and open-source projects.
- Collaborate with firmware, BIOS, hardware, validation, and customer engineering teams.
- Analyze performance, boot-time, power management, and reliability issues.
- Support customer feature development and bring-up of new hardware platforms.

Required Skills

Must Have

- Strong C programming skills.
- 3+ years of Linux Embedded Software Development experience.




- Good understanding of Linux Kernel architecture and driver model.
- Experience with Yocto Project, BitBake, OpenEmbedded, and layer management.
- Experience in BSP bring-up and board enablement.
- Knowledge of x86 architecture concepts.
- Strong debugging skills using GDB, perf, ftrace, dynamic debug, and kernel logs.
- Experience with Git, Gerrit, CI/CD workflows.
- Familiarity with bootloaders, UEFI, ACPI, Device Tree, and Linux boot process.

Preferred

- Xen Hypervisor development or virtualization experience.
- Dom0/DomU architecture understanding.
- Device passthrough, IOMMU, PCIe virtualization knowledge.
- Knowledge of QEMU, VirtIO, VirtIO-GPU, VirtIO-Net, VirtIO-Block.
- Experience in graphics/display stack (DRM/KMS/Wayland).
- Experience working with automotive or safety-critical platforms.
- Open-source community contribution experience.
- Upstream kernel or Yocto contribution experience.

Positive to Have

- PCIe, USB, Ethernet, Audio, Camera subsystem knowledge.
- Power management (S0ix/S3), suspend/resume debugging.
- Container technologies (Docker/Podman).
- Knowledge of AMD/Xilinx accelerator stacks (NPU/GPU) integration.
- Experience with Ubuntu and Yocto build systems.

Education

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related field.
