The Domestic Executive will be responsible for managing end-to-end domestic transportation, optimizing vehicle utilization (Trucks/Tankers), and ensuring cost-effective movement of goods. This role involves heavy coordination with transporters, data analysis, and strict adherence to transport agreements.
Role & responsibilities
- Vehicle Arrangement: Organizing and scheduling Trucks/Tankers for domestic movements as per requirement.
- Utilization & Efficiency: Ensuring proper utilization of Vehicles and reducing Turn Around Time (TAT).
- Vendor Management: Search new transporters in the market, conducting auctions, preparing Transport Agreements, and evaluating transporter performance.
- Bills verification: Checking of domestic transportation bills and warehouse bills.
- Operational Oversight (Truck movement): Coordinating with transporters for smooth daily operations and managing part-load arrangements.
- Part load: Verify cost from different transporters / Ensure timely delivery in committed transit days / Ensure safety & quality of the material in transit.
- Cost Control: Preparing transport cost comparisons and verifying Demurrage/Detention costs.
- Compliance & Monitoring (Truck): Monitoring route deviations,
night driving violations, and taking disciplinary actions (fines/penalties) as per contract terms.
- Loss Prevention: Recording and analysing shortages (Transit losses) and taking corrective actions against transporters.
- Reporting: Data analysis of all logistics activities and maintaining records of transporter evaluations and Warehouse vendors.
Preferred candidate profile
- Proficiency in MS Excel (Data Analysis, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) & ERP software (SAP/Oracle).
- Negotiation Skills - Ability to negotiate rates with transporters and conduct auctions.
- Analytical Skills - Robust ability to compare costs, verify bills, and identify shortage trends.
- Communication - Good communication skills to coordinate between Warehouse, Transporters, and Management
- Attention to Detail: Precision in checking bills and identifying contract deviations.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle on-field issues like route deviations or night driving risks.
- Integrity: Maintaining transparency in auctions and penalty collections.
- Time Management: Prioritizing urgent loads and minimizing vehicle wait times.
