Reporting to - Reporting Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically competent Power System Studies Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing power system analysis, developing simulation models, conducting engineering studies, and preparing technical reports for mission-critical electrical infrastructure projects.
The role offers exposure to complex power systems across Data Centers, Industrial Facilities, Commercial Developments, Renewable Energy Projects, and Utility Networks. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and project stakeholders to deliver technically sound and commercially viable engineering solutions.
This position is best suited for individuals who possess strong analytical capabilities, a passion for electrical engineering, and the ambition to grow in a dynamic, high- performance consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Power System Studies
Perform and support various power system studies including but not limited to:
- Load Flow Analysis
- Short Circuit Analysis
- Protective Device Coordination Studies
- Arc Flash Hazard Analysis
- Motor Starting Studies
- Harmonic Analysis
- Grounding and Earthing Studies
- Transient Stability Studies
- Grid Integration Studies
Power System Modelling
- Develop detailed electrical network models using industry-standard software.
- Verify and validate simulation models against project documentation and design requirements.
- Review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), equipment datasheets, protection
- philosophies, and vendor documentation.
- Analyze study results and identify potential operational, protection, and safety concerns.
Technical Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare engineering calculations, study reports, technical notes, and client deliverables.
- Provide engineering recommendations based on simulation outcomes.
- Participate in internal and external technical review meetings.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with applicable IEC, IEEE, and project-specific standards.
Technical Requirements
Mandatory Skills
- Hands-on experience with:
- ETAP
- DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- PSCAD
- PSSE
- Strong understanding of:
- Electrical Power Systems
- Protection & Coordination
- Fault Analysis
- Electrical Equipment Modelling
- Power Quality Concepts
- Familiarity with:
- IEC Standards
- IEEE Standards
- Utility and Industrial Power System Practices
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Renewable Energy Projects.
- Understanding of Numerical Protection Relays and Protection Settings.
- Basic knowledge of Python, VBA, MATLAB, or Engineering Automation Tools.
- Familiarity with electrical design and commissioning activities.
