Position description: The Associate Manager in the Blast Furnace - Mechanical department at Jindal Ferrous Limited plays a pivotal role in overseeing the mechanical operations and maintenance of blast furnace equipment within the mining and metals industry. Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the mechanical maintenance activities of blast furnace equipment to ensure uninterrupted production and adherence to safety standards.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
- Manage and optimize resource allocation including manpower, tools, and materials for effective maintenance operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations specific to blast furnace mechanical operations.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvement projects for senior management review.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing mechanical system performance data and recommending upgrades or process enhancements.
- Mentor and develop junior mechanical engineers and technicians to build a skilled and responsive maintenance team.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of critical spares and mechanical components.
- Knowledge of BF proper, BLT, Stove, GCP, SGP etc
