Job Description: Network Operations Engineer – Cisco Data Network

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Network Operations Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco data network technologies, routing, switching, and data center networking. The candidate will be responsible for configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational support of enterprise network infrastructure in a 24x7 support setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco network devices including Routers, Nexus switches, and Layer 3 Catalyst switches.

- Provide operational support for Cisco ASR and ISR routers and Cisco Nexus 9K switches.

- Support and troubleshoot Data Center Routing & Switching infrastructure.

- Configure and troubleshoot FEX (Fabric Extender), vPC (Virtual Port Channel), and VXLAN technologies.

- Manage and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP and EIGRP, including route redistribution between protocols.

- Configure and troubleshoot GRE VPN, IPSEC VPN (IKEv2), and NAT.

- Work with Route Maps, ACLs, Prefix Lists, and TCP/IP networking concepts.

- Perform remote troubleshooting and support for network incidents and service requests.

- Monitor incidents, respond to support emails,



and provide timely updates through team communication channels.

- Participate actively in shift operations and 24x7 support activities.

- Coordinate with geographically distributed teams to resolve network issues efficiently.

- Handle multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize work effectively in a high-pressure support environment.

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Cisco Routing & Switching.

- Expertise in Cisco Routers (ASR/ISR), Nexus 9K, and Layer 3 Catalyst switches.

- Good understanding of Data Center networking technologies.

- Hands-on knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, VXLAN, vPC, FEX, GRE VPN, IPSEC VPN, NAT, ACLs, Route Maps, and Prefix Lists.

- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Ability to work in rotational shifts and provide 24x7 operational support.

- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and locations.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in enterprise Network Operations environments.

- Exposure to large-scale Cisco data network infrastructure.
