Job post - Purchase Engineer – Mechanical & Fabrication Materials

Key Responsibilities -

- Source and procure raw materials such as plates, pipes, flanges, fittings, structural steel, and fabrication consumables.

- Handle procurement of bought-out items, machining, coating, NDT, and other outsourced fabrication services.

- Float RFQs, evaluate vendor quotations, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.

- Prepare and process purchase orders as per project requirements, technical specifications, and approved budgets.

- Coordinate with production, QC, design, and stores departments to ensure timely availability of materials.

- Track vendor delivery schedules and follow up regularly to avoid production or project delays.

- Verify material test certificates (MTCs), quality documents, and compliance requirements before dispatch or receipt.

- Maintain vendor database,



supplier performance records, and develop current reliable vendors.

- Monitor procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.

- Ensure proper documentation, purchase records, and compliance with company procurement procedures.

* Qualifications & Experience*

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.

2–4 years of experience in procurement or purchase functions within fabrication, heavy engineering, or manufacturing industries.

Experience in procurement of industrial materials and fabrication components preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
