Role Overview:

Provide overnight L2 database operational support for SQL Server environments, including proactive monitoring, incident response, execution of deployments, and routine maintenance to ensure database availability, performance, and stability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor SQL Server database health using PRTG, Azure dashboards, and database monitoring tools.

- Review alerts, acknowledge incidents, and resolve issues using approved SOPs and runbooks.

- Monitor database instances, jobs, backups, and resource utilization to ensure proper operation.

- Execute database deployments using Azure DevOps, DB Maestro, Redgate, or approved deployment tools.

- Perform routine database maintenance activities and validate deployment and maintenance outcomes.
- Monitor and manage Azure VM health and database-related infrastructure.





- Escalate complex database performance or availability issues to L2/L3 DBA or client teams as required.

- Database refreshes to lower environments.

- Contribution to backlog or improvement of items related to the database platforms.

- Complete service requests as assigned.

- Database projects as assigned.

Key Skills:

- Basic knowledge of SQL Server administration and monitoring.

- Experience with PRTG, Azure Monitor, or similar database monitoring tools.

- Understanding of database deployments, backups, and job monitoring.

- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Redgate, DB Maestro, or similar tools.

- Ability to follow SOPs and perform basic incident troubleshooting and escalation.
