Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager with a strong mechanical background to lead the delivery and commissioning of mechanical systems across large-scale data center projects. This leadership role will oversee commissioning activities from design review through Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and final handover, ensuring all systems meet performance, reliability, safety, and operational requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless commissioning and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Systems Leadership

- Lead the delivery and commissioning of HVAC and cooling systems across multiple data center facilities.
- Oversee mechanical systems including chilled water (CHW) systems, CRAH/CRAC units, CDUs, cooling towers, pumps, piping networks, and associated controls.
- Ensure all systems achieve required levels of redundancy, resilience, efficiency, and operational performance.
- Monitor commissioning progress and provide technical leadership throughout project execution.

Commissioning & Testing

- Manage the complete commissioning lifecycle from pre-commissioning through final commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Develop, review, and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and testing scripts.
- Lead Cx4 and Cx5 testing activities, including failure mode and single point of failure (SPOF) testing.
- Oversee key commissioning activities such as:
- Chilled water flushing and cleaning
- Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB)
- Water flow verification
- Functional performance testing
- System reliability validation
- Review test results and ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all project areas.

Design & Technical Review

- Participate in design reviews and technical appraisals to ensure alignment with project requirements and operational objectives.




- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, commissioning procedures, and method statements.
- Identify design gaps, constructability issues, and technical risks at early project stages.
- Collaborate with design consultants and project teams to resolve technical challenges.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Act as the primary escalation point for all mechanical commissioning matters.
- Lead coordination among contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Drive standardization of commissioning practices, documentation, and lessons learned across projects.
- Mentor and guide commissioning engineers and site teams.

Project Risk & Delivery Management

- Identify and mitigate commissioning, operational, and performance-related risks.
- Ensure alignment between construction schedules, energization activities, commissioning milestones, and project handover timelines.
- Support critical project activities including system readiness reviews, power-on activities, and operational acceptance.
- Track commissioning progress and provide regular updates to project leadership.

Requirements

- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP, mission-critical, or data center projects.
- Robust expertise in mechanical commissioning and testing activities across project lifecycles.
- Proven experience with HVAC and cooling systems in critical infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience in Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and commissioning management.
- Strong understanding of chilled water systems, cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC units, CDUs, cooling towers, and associated controls.




- Experience managing multiple contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in data center projects, mission-critical facilities, or large infrastructure developments.
- Exposure to industry standards, commissioning methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience in design reviews, technical advisory, or consultancy environments.
- Professional certifications such as CxA, PMP, or equivalent are advantageous.
