The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for leading and driving sourcing activities for the PIP India
organization. This role reports directly to the India ISC Head and can be based in Pune, Mumbai, or
Delhi. The position requires strong leadership in supplier management, cost optimization, and strategic
sourcing to support business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- New Product Development (NPD):

o Prepare RFQs, identify suppliers, analyze quotations and commercial proposals.
o Conduct cost evaluations, negotiate with suppliers, finalize agreements, and oversee
PPAP approvals.

- Bill of Materials (BOM):

o Collaborate with engineering teams to finalize BOMs.
o Evaluate and validate costing for each part.

- Direct & Indirect Procurement Focus:

o Procure finished goods to support customer demand requirements.
o Procure services, MRO items, facilities-related purchases, IT equipment, professional
services, and other indirect spend categories.

- Procurement Activities:

o Manage end-to-end procurement activities for direct materials and indirect
goods/services to support business operations.
o Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal cost,
quality, delivery, and service performance.
o Create, process, and manage purchase orders while ensuring compliance
with procurement policies and approval requirements.
o Monitor supplier delivery performance and proactively resolve supply,
quality, and operational issues.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain,
Finance, HR, IT, and Business Functions to understand purchasing
requirements and drive timely execution.
o Conduct market analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier




consolidation, and process improvements.
o Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier master data, contracts, and
purchasing documentation.
o Support supplier relationship management, contract renewals, and
performance reviews to ensure continuity of supply and service excellence.

- Commodity & Cost Management:

o Monitor commodity price trends and conduct supplier cost negotiations.
o Drive cost reduction initiatives through value analysis and value engineering (VAVE).

- Vendor Management:

o Conduct supplier risk analysis, evaluation, and rating based on QCD parameters.
o Develop and implement supplier improvement plans.
o Manage supplier relationships and resolve grievances effectively.

- New Vendor Development:

o Assess vendor capacity, production cycle times, and readiness for new product setups.
o Support localization initiatives and vendor consolidation.

- Operational Excellence:

o Set and achieve annual targets for cost reduction, program launches, and supplier
performance.
o Negotiate tooling costs, manage amortization/recovery, and draft tooling agreements.
o Ensure productivity improvements, rejection control, and business assurance.
o Benchmark costs and monitor cost walk trends over time.

- Capacity & Material Planning:

o Align supplier capacity with production schedules to meet material requirements.




o Monitor raw material planning and procurement schedules.
o Expedite materials to support fast ramp-up of NPIs and ensure timely customer
deliveries.

- Technology & Systems:

o Support acquisition of new manufacturing technologies to maintain competitiveness.
o Demonstrate proficiency in ERP/SAP systems.
o Negotiate stocking agreements and vendor-managed inventory (VMI).
o Manage IOS compliance internally and at supplier sites.

- Collaboration & Due Diligence:

o Work closely with cross-functional teams (CFT) and design engineering.
o Support ISC due diligence processes for supplier partnerships and key players.
o Conduct quarterly supplier visits to strengthen relationships and address
capacity/quality issues.

- Communication:

o Exhibit strong communication skills to interact with global suppliers and internal
teams.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or MBA (Master's degree preferred).
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing.
- Proven track record in successfully managing new projects.
- Robust knowledge of vendor management, procurement and strategic sourcing practices.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Understanding of local market opportunities.
- Six Sigma Green Belt; Lean Expert/Black Belt certification is an added advantage.
