Job Summary

Polaris Industries, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Customer Web Applications team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern, scalable, and secure full-stack web solutions. As a software engineer on the Polaris team, you would be dedicated to an agile product team, giving you the ability and empowerment to make changes and go fast. We are looking for a software engineer with a customer-first mindset to create engaging customer-facing web applications. Strong candidates will be excited about power sports as well as technology.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Architecture
•
Plan and design information structure and architecture by studying site concepts, strategy, features, functionality, and user interface needs.
•
Be involved in architectural decisions and advocate for best practices in system design, code quality, and application performance
•
Champion modern UI/UX principles and responsive design for dealer-facing solutions
•
Ensure solutions are cloud-native, leveraging Azure services for scalability and reliability
•
Recommend system solutions by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
Full Stack Development & Engineering
•
Develop high-quality, testable code across the stack (front-end, back-end, APIs, and cloud services)
•
Develop applications in an object-oriented environment using application development technologies including web services, C#, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript frameworks, jQuery, and MVC.
•
Document technical decisions, implementation details, and API specifications
•




Ensure Definition of Done checklist items are completed for each story.
Security & Compliance
•
Ensure applications and solutions meet established quality, security, and accessibility standards.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
•
Work with users and staff to resolve business problems.
•
Attend and participate in project and administrative meetings.
•
Collaborate with project managers, designers, and marketing managers to refine the user experience.
•
Work as part of a highly cohesive and collaborative team distributed globally.
•
Use strong communication skills to understand user needs, collaborate with team members, and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
•
Support web application developers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
•
Update job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products, participating in educational opportunities, reading qualified publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
•
Enhance the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
System Maintenance & Operational Support
•
Support, maintain, and administer deployed solutions.

Skill Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
•




8+ years of experience in web application design and development working with Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET (minimum .NET 6, preferred .NET 8), and MVC
•
Must have strong back-end development skills in developing Web API integrations
•
B2C customer-facing web development experience.
•
Able to diagnose and visualize changes necessary for certain problems and understand impacts and articulate Design Patterns and when they should be used.
•
Skilled in writing and running unit tests for front and backend code.
•
Must have experience building cross-browser applications in an object-oriented environment using application development technologies including web services, JavaScript, HTML 5, and CSS
•
Relational Databases developing against SQL Server.
•
Ability to work as part of a highly cohesive and collaborative team distributed globally.
•
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities at one time.
•
Have a good understanding of Agile methodology.
•
2+ years’ experience in single-page applications with either Angular v13+ or Vue, with experience in Vue 3 Composition API
•
Experience with any content management system. Optimizely (e.g. EPiServer 12+) is preferred

Experience with Cloud development. AWS preferred.
