Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Commi I – Continental to support the Continental kitchen operations. The candidate will be responsible for food preparation, maintaining quality and hygiene standards, and assisting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Continental dishes as per standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Handle preparation of vegetables, meats, sauces, soups, salads, pasta and other Continental items.
- Ensure proper portioning, seasoning, taste and presentation of food.
- Maintain consistency in food quality and quantity.
- Follow standard recipes and food preparation procedures.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials.
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients before use.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow FIFO and proper food storage practices.
- Monitor wastage and minimize food costs.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report any damage or malfunction.
- Follow food safety, personal hygiene and company standards.
- Assist during buffet, banquets, events and high-volume service when required.
- Coordinate with other kitchen team members for smooth service.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Chef or Management.

- Good knife-handling and basic culinary skills.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.

- Willingness to learn new recipes and techniques.
Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: Diploma / Certificate in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Continental kitchen operations preferred.
- Candidates with relevant hotel, restaurant or commercial kitchen experience may be considered.
