About The Company
Altum is a Microsoft Business Applications consultancy and AI implementation partner delivering end-to-end Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and AI-driven solutions for enterprises and organizations across industries. Our Customer Engagement practice designs and builds Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, and Power Platform solutions - integrated with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and our clients' broader technology landscape - to help organizations modernize how they sell, serve, and operate. We work across AI consulting, implementation, integration, data & analytics, and managed services, and we hold ourselves to Microsoft best practices on every engagement.
About This role
We are looking for a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE/CRM Technical Consultant to support a Canada-based engagement on a remote, 6-month contract basis, with the possibility of extension. We are seeking candidates based in Canada with 4–6 years of hands-on experience configuring, customizing, and extending Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement applications. This is a client-facing role: beyond strong technical delivery, you will own day-to-day client communication and run daily cadence (stand-up) meetings – coordinating effectively across time zones – keeping delivery on track and stakeholders informed. You will translate business requirements into robust, upgrade-safe technical solutions and serve as a trusted technical point of contact for the client throughout the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Configure and customize Dynamics 365 CE applications (Sales, Customer Service, and related modules) to meet client requirements.
- Design and build solutions on Microsoft Dataverse and the Power Platform, including model-driven and canvas Power Apps and Power Automate flows.
- Develop extensions using C# plug-ins, custom workflow activities, JavaScript/TypeScript,
Web API/OData, and PCF (Power Apps Component Framework) controls.
- Build and maintain integrations between Dynamics 365 CE and external systems using Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management), REST APIs, and OData.
- Configure security roles, business units, teams, and field-level security in line with least-privilege and segregation-of-duties principles.
Design and manage solution deployments across environments (Dev Test UAT
- Prod), including ALM using managed solutions, Azure DevOps / GitHub pipelines, and configuration/data migration.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, solution design specifications, and configuration workbooks.
- Support functional, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing, and provide hypercare and issue resolution post go-live.
Client Communication & Cadence Leadership
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client on assigned workstreams.
- Plan and run daily cadence (stand-up) meetings – tracking progress, surfacing blockers, and driving actions to closure.
- Communicate status, risks, and dependencies clearly and proactively to client stakeholders and internal delivery leads.
- Lead requirement-gathering and solution-design discussions, and manage scope, expectations, and follow-ups.
- Maintain and report against sprint backlogs, action logs, and delivery plans.
- Mentor junior consultants and review their configuration and code for quality and adherence to best practice.
Technical Skills Required
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience as a Dynamics 365 CE / CRM technical consultant or developer.
- Deep configuration and customization experience across Dynamics 365 Sales and/or Customer Service.
- Strong development skills: C# (.NET), plug-ins and custom workflow activities, JavaScript/TypeScript, and the Dataverse Web API.
- Solid Power Platform experience: model-driven and canvas Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse data modeling.
- Experience with integrations using Azure (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management), REST/OData, and web services.
- Working knowledge of ALM for Dynamics 365 – managed solutions, source control, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub).
- Understanding of the CE security model (roles, business units, teams, field security).
- Proven ability to lead client communication and run daily cadence / stand-up meetings independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in Agile / iterative delivery environments.
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-200 (Power Platform Functional Consultant), PL-400 (Power Platform Developer), MB-210 (Sales), or MB-230 (Customer Service).
- Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric for reporting and analytics.
- Experience with Copilot Studio, AI Builder, or Copilot for Dynamics 365.
- Exposure to Power Pages / portals and Customer Insights (Marketing).
- Experience integrating CE with ERP (Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations) or third-party platforms.
- Consulting background with client-facing delivery in a partner or systems-integrator workplace.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
