The Store Assistant is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing and maintaining construction materials at the project site. The Store Assistant must ensure that materials are available when required and that all stock records are properly maintained.
2. Roles & ResponsibilitiesMaterial Receiving
- Receive materials delivered to the construction site.
- Check the material quantity and condition before accepting it.
- Check the materials against the Purchase Order and Delivery Challan.
- Inform the Site Engineer if any material is damaged, missing or incorrect.
- Record all received materials properly.
Material Storage
- Keep all materials in the correct storage area.
- Arrange materials neatly and safely.
- Protect materials from rain, damage and theft.
- Keep cement and other sensitive materials in a dry and safe place.
- Separate damaged and rejected materials from usable materials.
- Keep the store area clean and organized.
Material Issue
- Issue materials only after receiving approval from the concerned Site Engineer or authorized person.
- Record the quantity of every material issued.
- Make sure the correct material is issued for the required work.
- Maintain records of materials issued to contractors and workers.
- Receive and record unused materials returned from the site.
Stock Management
- Maintain daily stock records.
- Check physical stock regularly.
- Make sure the physical stock matches the records.
- Inform the Site Engineer about low-stock materials.
- Report any shortage, excess or missing material immediately.
- Monitor material wastage and unnecessary usage.
POL / System Updates
- Update material receipts and issues in POL or the company system.
- Enter the correct quantity and material details.
- Keep all material records updated on time.
- Maintain Delivery Challans, Material Requests and other store documents properly.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Keep the store clean and safe.
- Stack materials properly to avoid accidents.
- Follow all site safety rules.
- Use required PPE while working at the construction site.
- Store chemicals and other hazardous materials safely.
- Do not block walkways or emergency access areas.
3. Daily Duties
- Check available stock.
- Receive and verify incoming materials.
- Issue materials as per approved requirements.
- Update stock records and POL.
- Check for damaged or missing materials.
- Keep the store clean and organized.
- Inform the Site Engineer about material shortages.
- Maintain all required documents.
4. Significant Rules
- Do not issue materials without approval.
- Do not make false entries in stock records.
- Do not hide material shortages or damages.
- Do not remove company materials without permission.
- Do not allow unauthorized persons to enter the store.
- Report any theft, loss or misuse of materials immediately.
- Maintain honesty and accuracy in all material records.
- Follow DEEJOS company policies and instructions.
5. Key Responsibility
The Store Assistant must ensure that construction materials are received correctly, stored safely, issued properly and recorded accurately, so that the project team always has the required materials without unnecessary loss or wastage.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
