JOB PURPOSE

To deliver engaging, concept-based and student-centred Social Science instruction, with a strong focus on History, while integrating Geography, Civics and Economics wherever appropriate. The role is responsible for developing students’ historical understanding, critical thinking, research skills, civic awareness and ability to connect past events with contemporary issues.

The teacher will plan and deliver lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum, school academic standards and applicable CBSE/NCERT frameworks, using innovative pedagogy, technology and experiential learning.

III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIESA. Teaching & Learning

- Plan and deliver effective History/Social Science lessons for Grades 6–10.
- Develop annual plans, unit plans, lesson plans and learning resources.
- Use storytelling, timelines, maps, primary sources, debates, projects and case studies to make History engaging.
- Encourage critical thinking, inquiry, analysis and evidence-based reasoning.
- Integrate interdisciplinary and real-world connections into classroom learning.
- Use digital tools, presentations and educational technology effectively.

B. Assessment & Academic Progress

- Design and conduct formative and summative assessments.




- Evaluate student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Track student performance and identify learning gaps.
- Provide remedial support and enrichment activities as required.
- Maintain accurate academic and assessment records.

C. Student Development

- Promote respectful discussion, democratic values, cultural awareness and responsible citizenship.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and disciplined classroom environment.
- Provide appropriate academic and pastoral support to students.
- Encourage participation in debates, quizzes, exhibitions, projects and History/Social Science activities.

D. Collaboration & School Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the Social Science department to improve curriculum delivery.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and communicate student progress effectively.
- Coordinate with colleagues for interdisciplinary projects and school events.
- Participate in training, professional development and academic initiatives.
- Support examination duties, invigilation, school events and other assigned responsibilities.

IV. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE





- Bachelor’s Degree in History/Social Science or relevant subject combination from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification from a recognized institution.
- For a CBSE-oriented role, candidates should preferably meet applicable CTET/TGT eligibility requirements. Current central-school criteria commonly require two Social Science subjects from History, Geography, Economics and Political Science, with History or Geography as one of them.
- 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience preferred.
- Solid command of English; proficiency in Hindi is desirable.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Google Workspace and digital teaching tools.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
