About the Role

We build custom sheet metal enclosures, components and assemblies for OEMs in medical devices, telecom, electronics and robotics. Every enquiry that comes to us starts as a drawing and ends as a quotation — and that quotation decides whether we win the customer or lose them.

That's your job. You own the RFQ.

You'll read the drawing, understand what it takes to make it, cost it accurately, and then talk to the customer with enough technical confidence that they trust the number. This is not a spreadsheet role and it's not a cold-calling role — it's the bridge between our shop floor and our customers.

What You'll Do

- Study customer drawings, CAD models and specifications to determine manufacturing feasibility
- Prepare accurate cost estimates covering material, laser/punching, bending, welding, finishing, hardware and assembly
- Build and refine costing models in Excel — and continuously improve our estimation accuracy
- Prepare and submit professional quotations within committed turnaround times
- Handle customer communication end-to-end: clarifications, technical discussions, negotiations, follow-ups
- Work closely with Production, Purchase and Quality to validate assumptions before quoting
- Track quotation conversion, analyse why we win and why we lose, and feed that back into pricing strategy
- Monitor competitor pricing and material market movement

What You Need

Must have:

- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering




- Minimum 2 years in mechanical costing or estimation
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T; and CAD models confidently
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes — sheet metal, machining, welding, surface finishing
- Advanced Excel — formulas, lookups, pivot tables, building your own costing templates
- Clear spoken and written English; comfortable on calls and in customer meetings
- Prior experience in direct customer handling

Strongly preferred:

- Experience in sheet metal fabrication or contract manufacturing
- Exposure to B2B OEM customers
- Awareness of raw material pricing trends and vendor markets
- Familiarity with ERP or quotation management systems
