Your role, your impact
As a Senior Manufacturing Consultant, you’ll play a critical role in delivering expert-level functional consulting services across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O;), with a focus on discrete and process manufacturing. You’ll leverage your manufacturing and Dynamics expertise to design and implement solutions aligned with client operational goals, business requirements, and established delivery methodologies.
Your ability to lead manufacturing discovery, translate complex operational requirements into effective D365 F&O; solutions, guide clients through implementation best practices, and mentor consulting teams will directly contribute to successful implementations, client confidence, and delivery excellence.
Your day-to-day
- Design end-to-end manufacturing functional solutions that address complex business requirements using D365 F&O;
- Lead and facilitate manufacturing business process discovery and requirements workshops with client stakeholders;
- Perform gap analysis between client manufacturing processes and D365 F&O; capabilities and recommend appropriate solutions;
- Configure D365 F&O; manufacturing modules including Production Control, Master Planning, BOMs, and Formulas;
- Review solution design recommendations, guide clients through Alithya’s implementation methodology, and apply Microsoft Success by Design principles;
- Develop functional design documents (FDDs) for custom developments, integrations, and ISV extensions;
- Design, develop, and execute SIT and UAT scenarios, and coordinate manufacturing data migration activities including BOMs, routes, inventory, open production orders, and standard costs;
- Advise clients on solution roadmaps, upgrade paths, and ISV or third-party manufacturing extensions, and requirements for complex multi-site and multi-entity manufacturing environments;
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level consultants, support issue resolution, escalation management, and change control governance across manufacturing workstreams;
- Contribute to project planning and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining strong client relationships throughout project delivery.
Keys to your success
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field;
- Minimum 5 years of combined ERP and manufacturing industry experience, including at least 3 years as a Dynamics D365 F&O; consultant with a manufacturing specialization;
- Strong implementation experience across D365 F&O; manufacturing functionality, including Production Control, Master Planning, BOMs, and Formulas, and multi-site and multi-legal-entity manufacturing implementations;
- Strong understanding of discrete, process, and mixed-mode manufacturing environments, as well as manufacturing processes and industry practices across areas such as production planning,
shop floor operations, costing, inventory, and supply chain;
- Ability to conduct effective discovery sessions with manufacturing stakeholders including shop floor supervisors, planners, cost accountants, plant managers, and executive leadership;
- Strong understanding of project methodologies, change control processes, and delivery standards, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams while working within project schedules and budget constraints;
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex manufacturing concepts to technical and business audiences and stay current with D365 F&O; capabilities and industry best practices.
Extra edge
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent manufacturing certification;
- Experience across discrete manufacturing industries, including automotive, industrial equipment, and electronics, as well as process manufacturing industries such as food and beverage, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals, including mixed-mode manufacturing environments;
- Experience with Microsoft Success by Design, ISV and third-party manufacturing extensions, continuous improvement initiatives, and mentoring junior or mid-level D365 F&O; consultants.
