Position: QA Engineer — Manual Testing with Automation Exposure Experience: 3–6 years.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong manual testing expertise and working knowledge of test automation.



You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our fintech lending platform across web applications, APIs, and integrations. The role is primarily manual/functional testing focused, with opportunities to contribute to and grow within our automation initiatives using Playwright and Robot Framework (Python).

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing across web applications and APIs
- Execute end-to-end testing of complex business workflows, including third-party integrations
- Log, track, and verify defects with clear reproduction steps using JIRA (or similar tools); collaborate with developers to triage and validate fixes
- Maintain and update test cases, regression suites, and QA documentation in test management tools (e.g., Testmo)
- Contribute to automation efforts: write and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and/or Robot Framework with Python under guidance of the automation lead
- Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, retrospectives) and provide QA estimates and sign-offs
- Perform database validation using SQL/MongoDB queries to verify data integrity behind UI workflows
- Support UAT and production release validation activities





Required Skills & Qualifications

- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in manual/functional testing of web applications
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Proven ability to write explicit, structured test cases and identify edge cases from requirements
- Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools
- Working knowledge of test automation with Playwright and/or Robot Framework, with basic Python scripting skills
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, Testmo, TestRail, or equivalent)
- Basic proficiency in database querying (SQL or MongoDB) for backend validation
- Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear written/verbal communication

Good to Have

- Experience in fintech, lending, payments, or BFSI domain
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and running automated suites in pipelines
- Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and webhooks/callback validation
- Experience testing role-based access, permissions, and multi-tenant applications
- Knowledge of browser developer tools for front-end debugging, Logs for back-end debugging.
- ISTQB or equivalent QA certification
