Thanjavur

Affiliation: CBSE (Affiliation No. 1931677) Position: Hindi Teacher — Third Language (TGT/PRT) Grades: [Classes I–VIII / I–X — specify] Employment Type: Full-time, on-campus Eligibility: Freshers and experienced candidates; B.Ed. preferred, not mandatory Reports To: Principal / Academic Head Vacancies: [1] Joining: [Immediate / academic session start]

About the Role

We are looking for a Hindi teacher who genuinely enjoys the language and can pass that enjoyment on to children for whom Hindi is a third language, after Tamil and English. Our students come to Hindi with little exposure outside the classroom, so the teacher's job here is not only to complete the syllabus — it is to make Hindi approachable, useful and enjoyable, so students choose to speak it rather than merely score in it.

The right candidate is patient with beginners, confident in grammar and pronunciation, and creative in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum

- Plan and deliver Hindi lessons for the assigned classes in line with the CBSE curriculum and NCERT/prescribed textbooks.
- Prepare annual, unit and daily lesson plans, and maintain teaching records as per school and CBSE norms.
- Build the four language skills systematically — shravan (listening), bhashan (speaking), pathan (reading), lekhan (writing).
- Teach Devanagari script, matras, varnamala, sentence formation and grammar (vyakaran) from the foundation upward, keeping in mind that most students are first-generation Hindi learners.
- Correct pronunciation and handwriting patiently, with special attention to sounds that Tamil-speaking learners typically find difficult.

Making Hindi Fun and Easy

- Use storytelling, rhymes, songs, role play, flashcards, word games, picture cards and easy conversation drills to build vocabulary naturally.
- Use audio-visual aids, smart board content and activity-based learning rather than rote memorisation.
- Connect Hindi to everyday life — travel, cinema, sports,

national exams and career use — so students see why it is worth learning.
- Organise Hindi Diwas, kavita paath, elocution, skits, calligraphy contests, wall magazines and Hindi club activities.
- Encourage a "Hindi speaking" classroom culture where mistakes are safe and participation matters more than perfection.

Assessment & Student Support

- Set and evaluate assessments as per CBSE assessment patterns; maintain accurate marks and progress records.
- Identify slow learners early and run remedial/bridge classes; extend enrichment work for advanced learners.
- Prepare students for Hindi olympiads, competitions and external certification examinations where applicable.

Classroom & School Life

- Maintain discipline, safety and a positive learning environment in the classroom.
- Communicate student progress to parents during PTMs and as required.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, CBSE workshops, examination duties, school events and assigned co-curricular duties.
- Act as a class teacher / house mentor if assigned.

Eligibility

Freshers and experienced teachers are both welcome. B.Ed. is preferred but not mandatory.

We care first about command of the language and the ability to teach it well. If you have that, apply — we will support you in completing your teaching qualification.

Essential

- Graduation or Post-graduation in Hindi (B.A./M.A. Hindi), or a recognised Hindi proficiency certification such as Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha (Praveshika / Rashtrabhasha Visharad / Praveen / Pravin), Hindi Sahitya Sammelan or equivalent, along with a degree in any discipline.
- Fluent, correct spoken and written Hindi.

Preferred (not mandatory)

- B.Ed. / D.El.Ed.

/ B.El.Ed.
- CTET / TNTET qualification.
- Prior teaching experience in a CBSE or matriculation school.

Experience: Freshers to experienced — both considered. Candidates without formal school experience should be prepared to demonstrate teaching ability in a demo class.

Note: In line with CBSE norms, candidates selected without a B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. will be appointed on the condition that the qualification is completed within an agreed period from the date of joining. The school will support candidates in doing so.

Skills and Attributes We Look For

- Excellent command of spoken and written Hindi, with clear, correct pronunciation.
- Working knowledge of English; ability to understand Tamil is an advantage for explaining concepts to young learners.
- Genuine passion for the language and for teaching children — this matters to us as much as qualifications do.
- Ability to simplify: to break grammar and vocabulary into small, confidence-building steps for non-native learners.
- Creativity in lesson design; comfort with digital teaching tools, smart boards and simple content preparation.
- Patience, warmth, classroom presence and strong communication with students and parents.
- Punctuality, professionalism and willingness to grow through training and feedback.

What We Offer

- Salary as per school norms and commensurate with qualifications and experience: [₹20000 - 35000 per month]
- [Food / accommodation / transport support — specify as applicable]
- Regular professional development and CBSE-aligned training.
- Well-equipped classrooms, teaching aids and a supportive academic leadership team.
- A collaborative work culture in a growing CBSE school in Thanjavur district.
