About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Assistant Chef to support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and food preparation. The ideal candidate should have good culinary knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
Support menu preparation and ensure timely completion of kitchen tasks.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion size, and presentation.
Ensure proper food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow.
Monitor food preparation and ensure ingredients are used efficiently.
Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.
Support the Head Chef in supervising and guiding kitchen staff when required.
Help minimize food wastage and maintain proper food storage practices.
Requirements
Previous experience as an Assistant Chef / Commis Chef / Senior Cook in a hotel, restaurant, hospitality, or similar environment.
Good knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
Strong understanding of food hygiene and quality standards.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food quality.
Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen procedures.
