Job Summary

Tatwamayi News & TV is looking for a skilled and responsible Cameraman / Video Camera Operator to capture high-quality footage for news reports, interviews, events, programmes, and digital media content.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of professional cameras, lighting, framing, composition, and field production, along with the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced news environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Capture high-quality video footage for news reports, interviews, events, programmes, and digital content.
- Handle qualified cameras, lenses, tripods, stabilisers, microphones, lighting equipment, and other production accessories.
- Cover breaking news and events efficiently while responding quickly to field assignments.
- Ensure proper framing, composition, focus, exposure, white balance, and camera settings.
- Record transparent and technically appropriate audio in coordination with the production team.
- Set up and operate cameras and basic lighting equipment for studio and outdoor shoots.
- Coordinate with reporters, producers, video editors, and other production team members.
- Capture multiple shots and appropriate supporting footage (B-roll) for news and feature stories.
- Transfer, organise, label, and safely maintain recorded footage and project files.
- Check camera and production equipment before assignments and report technical issues promptly.
- Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and safe transportation of cameras and related equipment.
- Follow professional standards for news coverage, privacy, safety, and responsible visual reporting.
- Be available for urgent assignments, breaking news coverage,



and outdoor shoots as required.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of professional video cameras and camera accessories.
- Strong understanding of framing, composition, lighting, exposure, focus, and camera movement.
- Ability to capture stable and visually engaging footage in different environments.
- Basic knowledge of audio recording and lighting techniques.
- Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to travel locally for news and production assignments.
- Knowledge of basic video editing is an added advantage.
- A valid driving licence and ability to travel independently may be preferred.

Qualifications & Experience

- Degree/Diploma/Certification in Journalism, Mass Communication, Film, Visual Communication, Photography, Multimedia, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with a news channel, television network, digital media organisation, production house, or YouTube channel will be an advantage.
- Freshers with strong practical camera skills and a good portfolio may also be considered.
