The Odoo Technical & Functional Consultant is responsible for leading complete Odoo ERP implementations, combining functional knowledge, technical development skills, and solid expertise in financial processes. The role includes requirement gathering, solution design, module configuration, customization, financial mapping, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

Business & Functional Analysis

1.Execute detailed business process analysis and

understand client workflows across departments.

3.Conduct requirement gathering workshops, prepare

BRDs, SRS, and GAP analysis documents.

4.

5.Map business processes to Odoo modules

6.Design optimized workflows, approval chains, and

automation.

Financial Functional Expertise

1)Configure and implement Odoo Accounting end-to-end:

a)Chart of Accounts (CoA)

b)Journal entries and ledger setup

c)Payables & Receivables

d)Bank reconciliation & cash management

e)Taxation (GST, TDS, VAT if needed)

f)Financial reporting (BS, P&L;, Cash Flow)

g)Multi-currency, multi-company setup

2)Work closely with finance teams to align Odoo

3)Ensure configuration accuracy during migrations from

legacy systems (Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.).

Odoo Implementation & Deployment

1) Lead full-cycle Odoo implementations:

a.Planning & blueprinting

b.Configuration

c.Customization

d.Integration

e.Data migration

f.Testing

g.Go-live

2) Prepare UAT test cases, validate business scenarios,

and ensure successful go-live.

3) Plan onsite/remote system rollout and train users

across departments.

Technical Development Responsibilities (Added advantage)

1.Customize and develop Odoo modules

2.Create new features, automation, and custom





business logic.

3.Develop reports (PDF, XLS), dashboards, and

advanced analytics.

4.Integrate Odoo with external systems (APIs,

payment gateways, CRM, logistics, e-commerce).

5.Perform troubleshooting, bug fixing, and

performance optimization.

6.Manage version control (Git), staging, and

production environments.

Documentation & Communication

1.Prepare complete technical and functional

documentation.

2.Provide training to end-users and department

heads.

3.Communicate milestones and risks to

management and stakeholders.

4.Maintain change logs, SOPs, and configuration

documentation for audits.

5.Process documents, blueprints, BRDs, and UAT

reports

Post-Implementation Support

1.Provide Level 2 & Level 3 support for Odoo

modules.

2.Resolve functional and technical issues within

defined SLAs.

3.Analyze recurring issues and recommend long-

term fixes.

4.Support financial teams during closing and audit

periods.

4.DUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Commerce, or Finance.

Odoo Certification is an added advantage.

3–8 years of experience in Odoo implementations
