Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead and manage day-to-day shipyard production activities, ensuring that shipbuilding, ship repair, fabrication, and outfitting works are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and as per required quality standards. Shipyard production-management roles typically involve coordinating production teams, resources, schedules, project teams, contractors, and quality/HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, and control daily production activities across the shipyard.
- Manage production of hull structures, fabrication, welding, piping, mechanical, electrical, outfitting, and repair works.
- Prepare and monitor production schedules in coordination with the Planning and Project Management teams.
- Allocate manpower, materials, tools, machinery, and other resources effectively.
- Monitor daily production progress against project targets and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Procurement, QC/QA, HSE, Stores, and Maintenance departments.
- Supervise production supervisors, foremen, engineers, technicians, and skilled workers.
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Ensure proper availability of materials, drawings, equipment, and manpower before starting production activities.
- Monitor productivity and identify bottlenecks, delays, rework, and resource constraints.
- Take corrective action to maintain project schedules and production targets.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, class requirements, quality procedures, and shipyard standards.
- Work closely with QC/QA teams to minimize defects and rework.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE and safety procedures throughout production activities.
- Conduct regular production meetings and provide progress reports to management.
- Monitor production KPIs such as man-hours, productivity, schedule adherence, rework, material utilization, and project progress.
- Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction,



productivity improvement, and efficient utilization of resources.
- Resolve production-related technical and operational issues in coordination with relevant departments.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and discipline within production areas.
- Support vessel launching, docking, trials, delivery, and other major project milestones as required.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Additional qualifications in Shipbuilding / Marine Engineering / Project Management will be an advantage.

Experience

- 8–15 years of relevant experience, with substantial experience in a shipyard, shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore fabrication, or heavy engineering industry.
- Candidates should have proven experience managing multi-disciplinary production teams and large-scale fabrication/shipbuilding activities.
- Experience in production planning, project execution, fabrication, outfitting, and subcontractor management is preferred.

Required Skills

- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of shipbuilding and shipyard production processes.
- Good understanding of structural fabrication, welding, piping, outfitting, and marine systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering and production drawings.
- Strong production planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Office, ERP/SAP, and production reporting systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and cost control.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
