Job Summary
We are looking for a commercially strong and hands-on Finance & Accounts Lead to manage the complete finance and accounting function, with primary responsibility for billing, collections, monthly closing and P&L;, GST and statutory compliance, cash-flow management, working-capital planning, project-wise profitability and MIS. The candidate should be capable of working closely with project, procurement, commercial and management teams and provide timely financial insights for business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage end-to-end billing and invoicing, including project/milestone billing, RA bills, advances, retention, debit/credit notes and reconciliation.
· Monitor customer receivables, prepare ageing reports, drive collection follow-up and escalate overdue amounts to management.
· Prepare monthly financial closing and P&L; statements with project-wise revenue, cost, gross margin and profitability analysis.
· Prepare and maintain daily/weekly/monthly cash-flow statements and rolling 30/60/90-day cash-flow projections.
· Project fund requirements based on upcoming customer collections, vendor payments, payroll, statutory dues, project commitments, BG/EMD requirements and other obligations.
· Monitor project-wise billing, collection, expenditure, committed cost, margin and cash requirements.
· Manage GST compliance including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, ITC reconciliation with GSTR-2B, RCM, e-invoicing and e-way bill coordination, as applicable.
· Manage TDS and other applicable statutory compliances, including reconciliation and timely filing/payment.
· Handle bank reconciliation, CC/OD accounts, bank charges, interest calculations, BG/FD-related records and banking documentation.
· Prepare monthly MIS covering billing, collections, receivables ageing, payables, cash flow, project profitability, budget vs. actual and fund requirements.
· Prepare annual budgets, periodic forecasts and variance analysis and highlight financial risks/margin leakages to management.
· Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants and internal/external stakeholders for audits, reconciliations and financial information.
· Ensure vendor/customer ledger reconciliation and timely resolution of accounting discrepancies.
· Establish and monitor finance controls covering billing, receipts, payments, approvals, documentation and reconciliations.
· Lead and guide the F&A; team and ensure timely completion of accounting, compliance and management reporting activities.
Key Deliverables / KPIs
· 100% timely and accurate project billing.
· Improvement in collection cycle and reduction in overdue receivables.
· Monthly P&L; and MIS closure within the defined management timeline.
· Accurate project-wise profitability and early identification of margin leakage.
· Reliable 30/60/90-day cash-flow and fund-requirement projections.
· Timely GST, TDS and other statutory compliances with minimum penalties/exposure.
· Effective working-capital and CC/OD utilisation management.
· Accurate customer/vendor/bank reconciliations.
· Timely and actionable financial reports to management.
Required Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles,
finalisation and financial reporting.
· Hands-on experience in billing, receivables, collections and project accounting.
· Strong understanding of GST, TDS and statutory compliance.
· Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel – Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, dashboards and financial models.
· Experience with Tally / ERP / accounting software; exposure to Power BI is an advantage.
· Strong understanding of working capital, cash-flow forecasting, banking and fund management.
· Ability to analyse project costs, margins and financial performance.

Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in EPC, MEP, construction, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure or other project-based organisations will be preferred.
