Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and responsible Transport Coordinator to manage our day-to-day transportation, vehicle placement, dispatch, and delivery operations.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in vehicle placement, transporter coordination, freight negotiation, vehicle tracking, dispatch management, and delivery follow-up. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, timely, and cost-effective movement of steel materials from dispatch locations to customer destinations.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and coordinate daily transportation schedules, routes, and vehicle requirements.
- Arrange suitable vehicles based on daily dispatch requirements and material quantity.
- Ensure timely vehicle placement at loading locations.
- Coordinate with transporters, drivers, vehicle owners, customers, and internal teams.
- Track vehicles from loading point to final delivery.
- Follow up on vehicle placement, loading, transit, unloading, and delivery status.
- Negotiate freight rates with transporters and ensure competitive transportation costs.
- Compare transporter rates and select cost-effective options based on service and reliability.




- Maintain updated records of vehicles, transporters, freight rates, dispatches, and deliveries.
- Verify vehicle and driver documents and ensure required transportation compliance.
- Handle vehicle delays, breakdowns, route issues, loading delays, driver concerns, and other logistics-related problems.
- Coordinate with Sales, Purchase, Accounts, Warehouse, and Operations teams for smooth dispatch execution.
- Monitor transportation expenses and identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs.
- Prepare daily dispatch, vehicle tracking, transporter, freight, and MIS reports.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding delivery status.
- Escalate delays, delivery issues, and operational challenges to the concerned department on time.
- Ensure all dispatches and deliveries are completed efficiently and within the committed timelines.

Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in transport coordination, logistics, dispatch, or fleet operations.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle placement, route planning, freight calculation, and transporter coordination.
- Experience handling multiple vehicles, transporters, and deliveries simultaneously.




- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/logistics management software.
- Strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Experience in the steel, construction materials, heavy-material, or B2B logistics industry will be an advantage.
