PLC Programmer with strong experience in wastewater or water treatment automation systems (WWTP/STP). The role involves developing and maintaining PLC/SCADA systems used for monitoring and controlling treatment processes such as pumping, filtration, aeration, and chemical dosing.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop PLC programs for wastewater treatment plants (WWTP/STP)
• Configure and maintain SCADA/HMI systems for plant monitoring and control
• Work on automation of key processes:
o Pumping stations
o Aeration systems
o Clarifiers and filtration units
o Chemical dosing systems
• Integrate field instruments (flow, level, pressure, pH, DO sensors) with PLC systems
• Troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation issues
• Interpret P&ID; diagrams, electrical schematics, and control narratives
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards
• Maintain proper documentation and version control of PLC programs
Required Skills
• Solid PLC programming experience:
o Ladder Logic, Function Block,
Structured Text
• Hands-on experience with:
o Siemens (TIA Portal / Step 7)
o Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000 / RSLogix)
• SCADA/HMI tools:
o WinCC, FactoryTalk, Wonderware
• Industrial communication protocols:
o Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP
• Strong troubleshooting in process automation environments
Domain Expertise
• Experience in:
o Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP)
o Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
o Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
• Understanding of treatment processes:
o Biological treatment (aeration, activated sludge)
o Filtration and clarification
o Sludge handling
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work on-site and handle commissioning activities
