Job Summary

Tatwamayi News & TV is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor to join our media production team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of video editing, visual storytelling, pacing, graphics, and digital content requirements.

The candidate will be responsible for editing news videos, social media content, promotional videos, interviews, special programmes, and other digital media content while maintaining the channel's quality and visual standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Edit news videos, reports, interviews, programmes, reels, Shorts, and social media content.
- Review raw footage and select the most relevant and engaging shots.
- Create clean, professional, and visually appealing video content.
- Add appropriate transitions, graphics, captions, lower thirds, logos, music, sound effects, and other visual elements.
- Ensure proper audio quality, colour correction, framing, and overall technical quality.
- Edit breaking news and time-sensitive content within strict deadlines.
- Coordinate with the News, Content, Graphics, and Social Media teams to understand content requirements.
- Adapt videos into suitable formats for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
- Maintain consistency with the channel's branding and visual guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy of text, names, captions, dates, and other on-screen information.
- Organise and maintain project files, footage, and completed videos systematically.
- Handle multiple editing assignments and prioritise urgent content effectively.




- Stay updated with current video editing trends, social media formats, and audience preferences.

Required Skills

- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent professional video editing software.
- Basic to good knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, or similar tools is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of video editing techniques, storytelling, pacing, and composition.
- Good knowledge of audio editing, colour correction, and basic motion graphics.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valuable creative sense and visual judgement.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends or holidays, when required by news operations.

Qualifications & Experience

- Degree/Diploma/Certification in Film, Media, Visual Communication, Animation, Multimedia, or a related field is preferred.
- Candidates with relevant experience in news channels, digital media, YouTube channels, production houses, or social media agencies will be preferred.
- Freshers with strong editing skills and a good portfolio may also be considered.
