RanoLabs is seeking U.S.-based English-speaking participants for a paid voice and video data-collection project supporting AI technology development.

Participants will take part in natural, unscripted video conversations with another participant through a FaceTime-like conversation application. Each session will be approximately 3-5 minutes and will involve everyday topics designed to capture natural speech, facial expressions, hand gestures, head movements, and body language.

No acting experience is required. The goal is to capture authentic, natural conversation and real-world communication.

Responsibilities

- Participate in approximately 3- 5 minute recorded video conversations.
- Engage in natural, unscripted conversations with other participants.
- Discuss a variety of everyday topics and respond naturally to conversation prompts.
- Use natural facial expressions, hand gestures, head movements, and body language.
- Occasionally interact with objects during certain sessions.
- Participate through a FaceTime-like video conversation application.
- Follow recording instructions and on-screen prompts/timers.
- Complete multiple sessions with different conversation partners, where applicable.

Requirements

- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be comfortable speaking English naturally and conversationally.
- Must have a suitable device and environment for high-quality video and audio recording.




- Must be able to participate in a reasonably quiet environment.
- Clear speech and natural conversational ability.
- Comfortable appearing on camera from the upper body to full body.
- Able to follow recording and session instructions.
- No qualified acting or voice-over experience required.

Recording Requirements

Participants must be able to provide:

- Clear, sharp, stable video.
- Minimum 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
- MP4 video format.
- Clean audio with minimal background noise.
- A quiet recording environment without significant echo, television, music, or other distractions.
- Synchronized audio and video.

We are seeking participants across the United States, ages 18–70, from diverse gender and ethnic backgrounds, who are native or fluent U.S. English speakers.

Consent & AI Data Usage

Participation requires signing a consent form that grants lifetime, global rights for AI training and related use of the participant's recorded face and voice. The consent covers likeness, voice, biometric data, and cross-border transfer of the collected data.
