Role Overview

Looking for an experienced Electrician to handle electrical maintenance and troubleshooting at our solvent manufacturing plant, ensuring secure and reliable power supply to all process and utility equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical panels, motors, MCCs, DBs, transformers, and DG sets
- Attend to breakdown calls for motors (pumps, agitators, compressors) and electrical equipment with minimum downtime
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) of electrical systems as per schedule
- Carry out cable laying, termination, and earthing work as required
- Monitor and maintain panel meters, relays, MCBs, ELCBs, and protection systems
- Troubleshoot motor starters, VFDs, and control circuits
- Ensure electrical installations comply with hazardous area classification (Zone 0/1/2) applicable to solvent/chemical plants — use of flameproof (Ex-proof) fittings, motors, and panels
- Follow permit-to-work and LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) procedures before undertaking any electrical job
- Maintain electrical maintenance logs/records and report abnormalities to Shift Supervisor




- Support electrical shutdown/turnaround activities during plant maintenance
- Coordinate with Mechanical/Instrumentation teams for equipment handover after maintenance

Requirements

- ITI (Electrician Trade) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a chemical, pharma, or process industry
- Working knowledge of LT panels, motors, VFDs, DG sets, and control circuits
- Understanding of hazardous area/flameproof equipment used in solvent plants
- Familiarity with safety protocols — LOTO, hot work permits, PPE usage
- Ability to read electrical drawings and single-line diagrams (SLD)
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and respond to breakdown calls
- Valid Electrical Supervisor/Wireman License (as per state requirement) preferred
