INTERIOR DESIGNER

ALLOY is looking for an Interior Designer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants exposure to the entire lifecycle of a project — from the first concept and design development through drawings, site execution, detailing, and final handover.
The Role
The Interior Designer will work closely with the senior design team and be involved across both design and execution. The role offers the prospect to work on live projects, visit sites regularly, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and see design decisions translate into finished spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing projects from concept to completion, including concept design, layouts, material selection, detailing, execution, and handover.
- Prepare and develop AutoCAD drawings, working drawings, furniture details, elevations, sections, and other technical documentation.
- Develop design presentations, mood boards, material palettes, and project documentation.
- Participate in site visits, site measurements, inspections, and execution reviews.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, contractors, vendors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Understand drawings on site and ensure that the design intent is accurately translated into execution.
- Assist in resolving site-level design and execution challenges.
- Coordinate material selections, samples, finishes, and vendor requirements.
- Track drawing revisions, approvals, site changes, and project requirements.
- Work closely with senior designers and take ownership of assigned portions of projects.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, vendor discussions, and site meetings as required.
- Maintain project timelines and ensure assigned deliverables are completed within deadlines.
- Gain practical understanding of materials,
construction techniques, joinery, finishes, lighting, services, and overall interior execution.
- Contribute to the project from the initial idea through to the final finished space.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in interior design.
- A degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, Enscape, V-Ray, or other relevant software is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of design fundamentals, materials, detailing, and spatial planning.
- Good visual and creative sense with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and translate them into execution.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to be actively involved in site work and execution, not just studio-based design.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within project timelines.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn across every stage of the design process.
What You'll Experience at ALLOY
This role is designed for someone who wants to understand how a project is actually made. You will not be restricted to a single stage of the process — you will have exposure to design development, technical detailing, materials, vendors, site execution, client interactions, and project completion.
You will work alongside designers and project teams, gaining a practical understanding of both the creative and technical sides of interior design.
