Job Summary:

A Soil Test Engineer is responsible for conducting laboratory tests on soil samples to determine their physical and engineering properties. The role involves analyzing test results, maintaining lab equipment, and preparing accurate reports to support construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct soil testing as per standards (IS/ASTM), including:
- Grain size analysis (Sieve analysis)
- Atterberg limits (LL, PL, PI)
- Compaction test (Proctor test)
- California Bearing Ratio (CBR)
- Specific gravity test
- Moisture content test
- Shear strength tests (Direct shear / Triaxial)
- Collect, label, and prepare soil samples for testing
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration
- Record observations and prepare detailed test reports
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety procedures
- Assist in site investigations when required
- Coordinate with site engineers and project teams





Required Skills:

- Basic knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles
- Familiarity with lab testing procedures and equipment
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Word)

Educational Qualification:

- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E in Civil Engineering or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in soil testing lab (internship or job)
- Knowledge of IS codes and testing standards
