We are looking for a well-organized and student-friendly Librarian to manage and enhance our school library. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of library systems, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting reading habits among students.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and organize all library books, journals, digital materials, and resources.
Assist students and teachers in locating books and reference materials.
Issue and return books using library management software.
Maintain accurate records of issued/returned/lost books.
Plan and conduct library activities such as reading sessions, book fairs, and storytelling. Ensure discipline, cleanliness, and a quiet environment inside the library.
Review and recommend new books and resources suitable for various grades.
Catalog and classify books following standard library procedures.
Coordinate with teachers to support academic curriculum and project-based learning. Manage inventory, stock checks, and annual library audits.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or equivalent qualification.
Knowledge of library management systems or cataloguing software.
Robust organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
Ability to engage students and encourage reading habits.
Attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills
Basic computer proficiency
Prior experience in a school library preferred.
