Labour Room Nurse

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Labour Room Nurse to provide safe and quality nursing care to pregnant women during labour, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide nursing care to patients during labour and delivery.
- Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate, and labour progress.
- Assist doctors during normal and assisted deliveries.
- Prepare the labour room, instruments, equipment, and emergency medications.
- Maintain proper aseptic techniques and infection-control practices.
- Assist with emergency obstetric procedures when required.
- Provide immediate newborn care and assist with neonatal resuscitation when needed.
- Monitor patients during the postpartum period and identify complications promptly.
- Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
- Ensure proper handover between shifts.




- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their attendants.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness of the labour room.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing qualification.
- Valid nursing registration.
- Previous Labour Room / Obstetrics & Gynaecology experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of labour room procedures and emergency care.
- Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work rotational shifts, including night shifts.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Experience:
Experienced candidates preferred. Labour room experience will be an added advantage.
