Designation: - Manager Machine Shop

Role in the JJEPL:-

1. Key role for growth of all machining activities (inhouse and subcontract) to cope with company targets.

2. To ensure team performance for Quality, Timely Delivery and Throughput.

3. As mediator between management and subordinates for General Harmony.

4. Well-being of inhouse plant and machinery and subcontract relations.

Functions Performed in Organization:-

1. Insure and execution of in-house, subcontract machining components schedules wrt. Monthly and Quarterly plan.

2. Make best possible use of in-house and subcontract setup and weekly work allocation.

3. Approving Planning & monitoring execution of Machine Shop targets.

4. Daily monitoring of actual and target plan with concern person.

5. Daily monitoring with machine shop supervisor, PPC and subcontract Manager.

6. Improvement on process, tooling for cycle time reduction, quality improvement.

7. Review with departmental purchase for tooling RM and consumables in order to timely output.

8. Identify new machine requirement, investment proposal and execution.

9. Monitoring of machine shop utilization, efficiency.

10. Daily troubleshooting.

Your Stake Holders:-

1. Customer (Internal / External) – PMO, Fabrication shop, Quality, dispatch, Assembly.

2. Employer – JJEPL.

3. Colleagues / Subordinates – Machine shop & subcontract team members.

4. Suppliers-

1. Identification of suppliers having heavy and reliable machining setup.

2. Identification of local tooling supplier for every tooling solution.

3. Machine recondition or retrofitting supplier.

Responsibilities:-

1.



Responsible for overall management of machine shop production activities and achieving production targets with required lead time in in-house and subcontract below estimated shop cost.

2. Optimize the machining processes in terms of consistent productivity and quality.

3. Responsible for development and implementation of appropriate cost control and cost reduction initiatives within responsible functions.

4. Assists in the design and development of fixture, special tools, programming, and other related devices for production which align with the Manufacturing process.

5. Responsible for department planning and coordination of scheduling.

6. Implementation of recent product development, process, selection of machines, tools, fixture and inspection methods.

7. Responsible for ensuring strict adherence of all company manufacturing standards, methods and policies.

8. Develop and Implement manufacturing processes.

9. Responsible for development and implementation of continuous process improvement in production, quality, efficiency, capacity, safety and wastage reduction.

10. Manage staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach business goal.

11. Responsible for change of priorities implementation.

Deliverables:-

a) Of Manager-

· On time delivery of all machining components at cost below estimation shop cost.

· Minimum variance between commitment and actual WRT Project Master Plan.

· Plant utilization > 80%.

· <24 hours GRN clearance of subcontract.

· 3 new initiatives / Quarter that reduce cost/time/rejection/rework.

· Conduct 1 training/month to machine shop.

· Reduction in rework & rejection.

b) Of Team

· Deliver products on time with required quality in available resources.

· Enhance skill of workers.

· Reduction in machining time.

· Adhere to quality by reducing of rework and rejection.

· Minimum disputes within department.

· Participate and execute safety measures in the machine shop area.

· Participate in Safety meetings & trainings as per requirements.

· Hosting meetings for reducing rework & rejection with stakeholders as per requirements.

Accountability:-

· Machine breakdowns. Uptime 95%

· Rejections wastage. Diminishing Trend

· Idling of next activity. <2/Month

· Missouts of PH1 and PH2. 0/Month

Education - DME / BE / B Tech Mechanical

Experience - Min 10 years
