SPM Machine Assembly Fitter

Job Summary

Responsible for the assembly, fitting, alignment, installation and trial run of Special Purpose Machines (SPM) as per engineering drawings, assembly drawings and required quality standards. The candidate should have valuable knowledge of machine components, mechanical fitting, precision assembly and troubleshooting.

Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Machine Assembly

- Assemble SPM machines and sub-assemblies as per engineering and assembly drawings.
- Perform mechanical assembly of machine structures, slides, fixtures, cylinders, gearboxes, shafts, bearings and other components.
- Ensure proper fitting and alignment of all machine components.
- Carry out assembly work using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments.

2. Precision Fitting & Alignment

- Perform accurate fitting, leveling and alignment of machine components.
- Check parallelism, perpendicularity, concentricity and alignment wherever required.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Dial Gauge, Height Gauge and other precision tools.
- Ensure proper clearance, tolerance and smooth movement of moving components.

3. Drawing & Technical Understanding

- Read and understand mechanical drawings, assembly drawings and component drawings.
- Identify dimensions, tolerances, fits and assembly requirements from drawings.
- Follow engineering instructions and assembly procedures accurately.

4. Pneumatic & Mechanical Assembly

- Assemble pneumatic cylinders, FRL units, valves, fittings, tubing and related components.
- Carry out mechanical installation of motors, gearboxes, couplings, bearings, shafts and slides.
- Ensure proper lubrication and free movement of mechanical parts.

5. Machine Installation & Trial

- Assist in machine installation, leveling and commissioning.




- Support machine trial runs and identify mechanical issues during trials.
- Rectify fitting, alignment and assembly-related problems.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Design and Production teams during machine trials.

6. Troubleshooting & Maintenance

- Identify abnormal noise, vibration, mechanical movement and alignment issues.
- Attend breakdowns and rectify mechanical problems.
- Replace or adjust damaged or improperly fitted components.
- Maintain proper condition of tools and assembly equipment.

7. Quality & Safety

- Ensure assembly work is completed as per quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in the assembly area.
- Follow all company safety rules and PPE requirements.
- Prevent damage to machine components during assembly and handling.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of mechanical fitting and machine assembly.
- Ability to read mechanical and assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of SPM machine components and assembly methods.
- Knowledge of precision measurement instruments.
- Good knowledge of alignment and fitting techniques.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Good teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma – Mechanical / Fitter / Machine Tool Maintenance or equivalent.

Experience

2–5 years of experience in SPM / Automation Machine Assembly / Machine Building / Tool Room Assembly.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
