Position: Plant Head

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Plant Head to lead our CRGO Transformer Lamination Manufacturing operations.

Qualification- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Industrial Engineering Preferred QualificationMBA – Operations will be an added advantage

Job Summary

The Plant Head will be responsible for the overall management, operational performance, and business objectives of the manufacturing plant, with specific responsibility for CRGO transformer lamination production.

The role will oversee production planning, quality, maintenance, process improvement, inventory, manpower, cost control, customer delivery, EHS, statutory compliance, and plant performance. The incumbent will be responsible for optimizing resources, improving productivity, reducing manufacturing costs and rejections, and developing a high-performance manufacturing culture.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in CRGO Transformer Lamination / Transformer Core Manufacturing, with proven leadership experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overall Plant Operations

- Oversee end-to-end plant operations to achieve production, quality, cost, safety, and delivery targets.

- Ensure smooth and efficient functioning of all manufacturing activities.

- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company business objectives.

- Monitor overall plant performance and take corrective actions wherever required.

- Ensure effective coordination between all functional departments.

2. Production Planning & Execution

- Lead production planning and ensure timely execution of manufacturing schedules.

- Ensure achievement of daily, monthly, and annual production targets.

- Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and production capacity.

- Monitor production efficiency, productivity, downtime, and bottlenecks.

- Ensure timely completion of customer orders as per committed delivery schedules.

- Identify production constraints and implement appropriate corrective actions.

3. Quality Management

- Drive quality standards across CRGO lamination manufacturing processes.

- Reduce rejection, rework, scrap, and customer complaints.

- Ensure compliance with approved product specifications, drawings, and quality standards.

- Lead Root Cause Analysis and implementation of CAPA for recurring quality issues.

- Coordinate with Quality teams to improve process capability and product consistency.

- Promote a strong culture of Right First Time (RFT) and continuous quality improvement.

4. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence





- Drive continuous improvement through:

- Lean Manufacturing

- Kaizen

- 5S

- TPM

- OEE Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, process efficiency, and machine utilization.

- Reduce manufacturing waste and operational losses.

- Improve cycle time, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness.

- Implement best practices across production operations.

5. Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

- Ensure effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

- Coordinate with Maintenance teams to minimize machine breakdowns and production downtime.

- Monitor equipment reliability and maintenance performance.

- Ensure availability and optimum utilization of critical production machinery.

- Support modernization, automation, and technology improvement initiatives.

- Monitor maintenance-related KPIs and take corrective actions.

6. Material & Inventory Management

- Ensure smooth flow and availability of raw materials and production inputs.

- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, PPC, and Supply Chain teams for uninterrupted production.

- Monitor inventory levels and optimize material utilization.

- Ensure proper control of raw material, WIP, finished goods, and consumables.

- Reduce material wastage and inventory-related losses.

- Support effective procurement and material planning strategies.

7. Cost Control & Productivity

- Control manufacturing costs through improved operational efficiency.

- Identify and reduce unnecessary expenditure, wastage, and process losses.

- Optimize manpower, energy, material, and machine utilization.

- Monitor production cost and productivity indicators.

- Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery.

- Improve overall plant profitability and operational efficiency.

8. EHS & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS, factory, environmental, and statutory requirements.

- Promote a strong safety culture and work toward a zero-accident workplace.

- Ensure implementation of safety procedures, PPE, work permits, and emergency response systems.

- Monitor plant housekeeping and 5S standards.

- Conduct regular safety reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements.

9. Manpower & Leadership Development

- Lead and develop cross-functional plant teams.

- Build a high-performance and result-oriented manufacturing culture.

- Define departmental goals, responsibilities, and performance expectations.

- Identify training and skill-development requirements.

- Develop supervisors, engineers, managers, and other plant leadership personnel.

- Promote teamwork, discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Customer & Internal Coordination

- Coordinate with customers and internal departments to ensure quality, delivery, and operational excellence.

- Support resolution of critical customer complaints and quality issues.

- Coordinate with Marketing, Quality, Production, PPC, Purchase, Stores, and Dispatch teams.

- Ensure customer commitments are aligned with plant capacity and production capabilities.

- Participate in customer visits, technical discussions, and important business reviews when required.

11. Plant KPI & Performance Monitoring

- Monitor and review key plant performance indicators, including:

- Production Output

- OEE

- Machine Utilization

- Productivity

- Quality / Rejection

- Manufacturing Cost

- Inventory

- Delivery Performance

- Safety

- Energy Consumption

- Conduct regular performance reviews with departmental heads.

- Identify gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Present plant performance reports and strategic recommendations to Senior Management.

12. Budgeting & Strategic Planning

- Prepare annual production and plant operating budgets.

- Develop capacity expansion and modernization plans.

- Evaluate requirements for new machinery, technology, manpower, and infrastructure.

- Support strategic initiatives for sustainable business growth.

- Develop long-term plans to improve plant capacity, productivity, quality, and profitability.

- Lead implementation of approved strategic projects and plant expansion initiatives.

Desired Skills & Competencies

- Solid experience in CRGO Transformer Lamination / Transformer Core Manufacturing is essential.

- Proven leadership experience in managing a manufacturing plant.

- Strong understanding of CRGO processing, transformer core manufacturing, production planning, and manufacturing operations.

- Excellent knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and OEE.

- Strong knowledge of quality management, CAPA, and process improvement.

- Excellent manpower and cross-functional team management skills.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Valuable understanding of manufacturing cost control and productivity improvement.

- Strong knowledge of EHS and statutory compliance.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

- Strong business orientation with the ability to align plant operations with organizational objectives.
