URGENT HIRING – CONSULTANT PAEDIATRICIAN

POSITION

Consultant Paediatrician

QUALIFICATION

• MBBS

• MD / DNB Paediatrics

• Valid State Medical Council Registration

EXPERIENCE

• Consultant: 2–5 years post-MD/DNB experience

• Senior Consultant: 8–10 years post-MD/DNB experience with NICU/PICU exposure

• Fellowship in Neonatology / PICU / Paediatric subspecialty will be an added advantage

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive Paediatric OPD consultations for children of all age groups

• Diagnose and manage common as well as complex paediatric illnesses

• Manage paediatric IPD patients and develop evidence-based treatment plans

• Monitor growth and developmental milestones

• Provide nutritional counselling and preventive healthcare guidance

• Conduct well-baby, well-child, adolescent health and vaccination clinics

• Manage paediatric emergencies including respiratory distress, sepsis, dehydration, seizures, shock, poisoning, trauma and allergic reactions

• Participate in emergency and Code Blue response

• Assess and manage newborns, including high-risk deliveries and neonatal emergencies

• Manage prematurity, neonatal jaundice, birth asphyxia, neonatal infections, feeding difficulties and respiratory distress

• Coordinate with Obstetricians, Intensivists, Surgeons, Nursing Staff and other specialists

• Provide vaccination counselling and monitor immunisation programmes

• Maintain complete and accurate medical documentation





• Follow NABH, NMC, infection control and antibiotic stewardship protocols

• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, CME and departmental academic activities

• Supervise and train junior doctors, nurses and allied healthcare staff

• Contribute to the development of the hospital’s Mother & Child Care programme

• Build referral relationships and participate in community health and awareness programmes

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Strong Paediatric clinical and diagnostic skills

• Good neonatal assessment and management skills

• Paediatric emergency and resuscitation expertise

• Excellent communication and parent counselling skills

• Compassionate and patient-centric approach

• Strong teamwork and crisis-management abilities

• Good EMR/HIS documentation and quality compliance skills

WORKING PATTERN

• Full-Time Consultant

• OPD & IPD responsibilities

• Nursery/Newborn rounds

• Emergency on-call duties as per departmental roster

• Attendance at high-risk deliveries and neonatal emergencies

• Participation in departmental meetings and quality reviews
