Training Delivery
- Deliver classroom, virtual and lab-based cybersecurity training according to the approved curriculum.
- Train learners in areas such as:
- Cybersecurity fundamentals
- Networking and network security
- Windows and Linux security
- Identity and access management
- Threats, vulnerabilities and risk management
- Security operations and incident response
- Security monitoring and log analysis
- Vulnerability assessment
- Web and application-security fundamentals
- Cloud-security fundamentals
- Data protection and privacy
- Cyber laws, ethics and responsible security practices
- Explain technical concepts using clear, learner-friendly language.
- Conduct demonstrations, simulations, case studies and guided lab exercises.
- Adapt training methods for learners with different educational and technical backgrounds.
- Provide remedial support to learners requiring additional assistance.
Practical Labs and Projects
- Conduct hands-on exercises in authorised and isolated lab environments.
- Guide learners in using tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Linux utilities, SIEM platforms and vulnerability scanners.
- Support learners in analysing network traffic, security alerts, vulnerabilities and incident scenarios.
- Guide learners through practical assignments and capstone projects.
- Review technical reports, lab submissions and project documentation.
- Ensure that all cybersecurity activities remain within approved legal, ethical and organisational boundaries.
- Prohibit testing, scanning or accessing systems without documented authorisation.
Learner Management and Mentoring
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and participative learning environment.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, engagement and academic progress.
- Identify learning gaps and implement suitable remedial interventions.
- Counsel learners on cybersecurity career pathways and certification options.
- Develop learners’ communication, analytical thinking, teamwork and workplace-readiness skills.
- Encourage responsible skilled conduct and respect for privacy and confidentiality.
Assessment and Documentation
- Conduct diagnostic, formative, practical and final assessments.
- Evaluate quizzes, lab exercises, incident scenarios, technical reports and projects.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to learners.
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and learner-progress records.
- Prepare and submit training and performance reports within defined timelines.
- Maintain supporting documentation required for programme reviews and audits.
Placement and Certification Support
- Prepare learners for technical assessments and cybersecurity interviews.
- Conduct mock interviews and technical practice sessions.
- Guide learners in preparing resumes, project portfolios and professional profiles.
- Coordinate with the placement team to assess learner readiness.
- Support preparation for relevant entry-level certifications when included in the programme.
- Engage with industry professionals and employers to understand emerging skill requirements.
Curriculum and Quality Improvement
- Review training content and recommend updates based on industry developments.
- Develop or adapt lesson plans, lab exercises, case studies, assessments and project briefs.
- Stay informed about current cybersecurity threats, technologies and defensive practices.
- Participate in trainer-development programmes, technical reviews and standardisation exercises.
- Ensure compliance with NIIT Foundation’s curriculum, quality and safeguarding standards.
Key Performance Indicators
- Training delivery against the approved plan.
- Learner attendance, retention and course-completion rates.
- Performance in theoretical and practical assessments.
- Completion and quality of labs, projects and learner portfolios.

- Compliance with cybersecurity lab-safety and ethical-use requirements.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Candidates with a relevant diploma and strong cybersecurity experience may also be considered.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CCNA, Cisco CyberOps, Microsoft Security, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity or equivalent are desirable.
- Training of Trainers certification will be an advantage.
Experience
- Two to five years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, security operations, IT infrastructure or technical training.
- At least one year of classroom, vocational, corporate or online training experience is preferred.
- Practical experience with cybersecurity tools, lab environments and incident scenarios is desirable.
- Experience working with youth from underserved or diverse backgrounds will be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking, operating systems and security fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux administration.
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, endpoint security and access controls.
- Experience with network analysis, vulnerability assessment and security-monitoring tools.
- Understanding of common threats, malware, phishing and social-engineering techniques.
- Foundational understanding of SOC operations and incident response.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud-security concepts.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell or Bash is desirable.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot cybersecurity lab environments.
