The Business Analyst (BA) serves as the key link between business stakeholders, product teams, and technology delivery teams. The role is responsible for understanding business needs, analysing processes, eliciting and documenting requirements, and ensuring solutions delivered align with business objectives.
Within the Barclays File Gateway (BFG) and Payments Technology landscape, the BA is expected to have a robust understanding of file processing journeys, payment flows, system integrations, and Agile delivery practices. The individual will work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Testers, Scrum Masters, Operations,
and Business stakeholders to drive successful delivery of strategic initiatives and ongoing platform enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Management
- Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and solution discussions with stakeholders.
- Produce high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, business requirements, and functional specifications.
- Ensure requirements are clear, complete, traceable, testable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Support prioritisation and refinement of requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Agile Product Delivery
- Work closely with Product Owners to maintain a healthy and prioritised product backlog.
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospective sessions.
