About Ankercloud

Ankercloud is a global technology consulting and implementation partner that helps ambitious companies turn bold ideas into real products using cloud, data, AI/ML, and security.

As a Premier Partner across AWS and Google Cloud, Ankercloud delivers cloud operations, managed services, cloud migration, security, cost optimization, and platform engineering services for customers across regions and industries.

Within Cloud Managed Services, Ankercloud focuses on reliable, secure, and efficient cloud operations, combining infrastructure expertise, automation, monitoring, and customer support to keep critical environments stable, compliant, and continuously improving.

Role Overview

Ankercloud is hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer (Windows & Linux) for the Cloud Managed Services team to design, operate, and optimize multi-OS cloud environments for customers across AWS and GCP.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable operating both Windows and Linux workloads, and who can move from OS-level administration and troubleshooting to cloud infrastructure operations, automation, monitoring, incident response, and customer-facing delivery.

The role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, cloud operations, automation, and managed services. It requires strong hands-on expertise, sound operational judgment, and the ability to keep production environments secure, available, and well-governed while helping customers modernize their infrastructure practices.

What You Will Do

Manage Multi-OS Cloud Environments

- Provide deep technical ownership of Windows Server and Linux-based environments across cloud-hosted and hybrid deployments, with strong focus on reliability, performance, and operational consistency.

- Administer and support Windows Server versions such as 2016, 2019, and 2022, along with common Linux environments used for enterprise and application workloads.

- Perform routine system administration activities such as patching, upgrades, backup verification, user and access management, system hardening, health checks, and lifecycle maintenance.

- Manage Active Directory services, Group Policies, user accounts, access permissions, and Windows administration workflows with strong attention to security and auditability.

- Troubleshoot OS, identity, networking, storage, and application-support issues across both Windows and Linux systems to minimize downtime and maintain high availability.

Design and Run Cloud Infrastructure

- Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure for managed customer environments on AWS and GCP, with strong focus on security, resilience, compliance, and operational excellence.

- Support hybrid and virtualized infrastructure patterns involving Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, Active Directory, networking services,

and cloud-native platform components where required.

- Contribute to infrastructure design discussions, feasibility analysis, operational planning, and customer solution reviews with internal teams, customers, and technology partners.

Automate and Improve Operations

- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, patching, and operational workflows using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, and related scripting frameworks.

- Develop reusable automation, operational scripts, support tools, and runbooks that make managed services operations more efficient, reliable, and reproducible.

- Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual operational effort, improve response times, and standardize repeatable engineering workflows across customer environments.

Ensure Reliability, Security, and Observability

- Monitor system health, availability, backup posture, patch compliance, configuration drift, and security baselines across managed cloud environments.

- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions across OS, cloud, and infrastructure layers.

- Optimize performance, harden security posture, and improve operational resilience of Windows and Linux workloads running on AWS and GCP.

Use AI to Improve Operations

- Experiment with AI-assisted monitoring, AIOps, and intelligent operations tooling to reduce alert noise, correlate events, and improve incident detection and response.

- Use AI-assisted tools to speed up troubleshooting, log and metrics analysis, operational documentation, script drafting, and repetitive support workflows while maintaining strong engineering and security judgment.

- Identify opportunities where AI-based monitoring, anomaly detection, conversational operations, or intelligent runbook assistance can improve service quality and operational efficiency over time.

Solve Customer Problems

- Collaborate closely with customer development teams, infrastructure stakeholders, and internal engineering teams to support platform needs, ongoing operations, and technical improvements.

- Communicate clearly with customer and internal teams on operational risks, technical trade-offs, remediation plans, incident learnings, and improvement opportunities.

- Stay current with evolving Windows, Linux, cloud, automation, and AI operations technologies, build proof-of-concepts where appropriate, and bring the best ideas into customer delivery.

Who You Are

- 4+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, cloud operations, managed services, or infrastructure support roles.

- Solid experience with Windows Server administration across versions such as 2016, 2019, and 2022, along with working knowledge of Linux administration in production environments.

- Practical working knowledge of AWS and or GCP cloud services, especially in infrastructure operations, monitoring, and support contexts.

- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell scripting, patch management, backup operations, and Windows platform troubleshooting.

- Hands-on experience with enterprise Linux distributions such as RHEL, Ubuntu, or Amazon Linux in production or cloud-hosted environments

- Experience with Linux package management and scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python for automation and operational tasks.

- Working knowledge of Linux security practices in cloud environments, including applying CIS benchmarks, managing security configurations aligned with AWS or GCP compliance standards, and maintaining secure posture across Linux workloads.

- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routing, VPNs, and connectivity troubleshooting.

- Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar platforms.

- Interest in AI-based monitoring, AIOps, or intelligent operations tooling, and curiosity about how AI can improve reliability and reduce operational toil.

- Strong problem-solving ability, operational discipline, and a bias toward reliability, documentation, and continuous improvement.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with comfort working directly in customer-facing environments.

- Experience mentoring junior engineers, providing technical guidance, conducting peer reviews, and contributing to team capability building within a cloud operations or managed services environment.

Nice to Have

- Professional-level AWS or Google Cloud certification.

- MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent Windows infrastructure certification is an added advantage.

- Exposure to monitoring, observability, security tooling, or operational dashboards in managed cloud environments.

- Experience supporting customer environments with infrastructure as code, operational runbooks, or standardized platform templates.

- Familiarity with AIOps concepts such as anomaly detection, event correlation, predictive alerting, or conversational operations over monitoring platforms.

What Should Excite You

- The chance to work on real production environments for Global customers rather than a narrow internal-only setup.

- Exposure to both Windows and Linux platform depth along with modern cloud operations across AWS and GCP.

- A role with visible ownership, strong learning velocity, and room to influence how Ankercloud delivers reliable, secure, automation-driven, and increasingly AI-enabled cloud managed services.
