Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Inspect machined components for dimensional accuracy against manufacturing and engineering drawings
- Use precision measurement instruments including vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and dial indicators
- Verify dimensional tolerances in the range of 10-30 microns across all critical features of each part
- Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting all measured dimensions and deviations against drawing specifications
- Identify and flag non-conforming parts; coordinate with the production team for rejection or rework decisions
- Maintain calibration records for all measurement instruments
- Read and interpret 2D engineering/manufacturing drawings with GD&T; annotations

Requirements:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in dimensional inspection in a precision engineering, toolroom, or machining environment
- Proficiency with vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, dial indicators, and surface plates




- Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings independently — non-negotiable
- Experience inspecting parts to tight tolerances (10-30 microns preferred)
- Ability to prepare explicit, detailed inspection reports with all dimensional data
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification preferred

Preferred / Advantage
- Knowledge of conventional machine tools — lathe, milling, grinding — and their dimensional capabilities and limitations
- Experience working in a toolroom or job shop environment
- Familiarity with basic GD&T; (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
