UST Job Title: Lead I - Semiconductor S/W Product Development
The Opportunity: We are seeking highly skilled Core Firmware Developers to join our team and work on cutting-edge embedded systems.
This role requires deep expertise in Embedded-C programming, strong knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces, and the ability to design and optimize firmware for performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontrollers and SoCs. Implement and optimize low-level drivers for hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, and timers.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and debug hardware/software integration issues.
- Ensure robustness, efficiency, and scalability in firmware design.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain high-quality standards.
- Document firmware architecture, design decisions, and technical specifications.
- Explore and adopt Rust for safety-critical firmware modules where applicable.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in Firmware Development and Validation cum Debug.
- Strong proficiency in Embedded-C programming with proven development experience. Solid understanding of low-level hardware development and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.).
- 7+ years of experience with RTOS or bare-metal firmware development.
- Hands-on experience with debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Experience in validation strategies for recent firmware features and debug.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
