Role Overview

The company is seeking a commercially focused and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial management and capital strategy of our renewable energy business. The CFO will play a critical role in driving sustainable growth, optimizing financial performance, securing project and corporate financing, and supporting investment decisions across a portfolio of renewable energy assets. The successful candidate will be a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with the CEO, Board, investors, lenders, and business leaders to execute the company’s growth strategy while maintaining strong financial discipline and governance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on financial strategy, business planning, and growth opportunities.

- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.

- Evaluate new business opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives.

- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;)

- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-term business planning.

- Provide regular analysis of financial performance, project returns, and portfolio profitability.

- Develop key financial metrics and dashboards to support executive decision- making.





- Lead annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.

Accounting & Financial Control

- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.

- Oversee all accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and financial control functions.

- Maintain robust internal controls, financial governance, and risk management frameworks.

- Manage external audits and relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

Renewable Energy Project Economics

- Lead financial evaluation of renewable energy projects throughout development, construction, and operations.

- Review project investment cases, power purchase agreements (PPAs), offtake arrangements, and commercial contracts.

- Ensure investment decisions meet required return thresholds and strategic objectives.

- Monitor project performance against financial and operational targets.

Risk Management

- Identify and manage financial, operational, market, regulatory, and liquidity risks.

- Develop strategies to mitigate exposure to energy price fluctuations, interest rates, foreign exchange, and counterparty risk.

- Ensure adequate insurance and risk management coverage across the business.

Investor & Stakeholder Relations

- Lead investor communications, board reporting, and lender engagement activities.

- Prepare presentations, investment memoranda, and financial updates for stakeholders.

- Support fundraising initiatives and due diligence processes.





- Build strong relationships with shareholders, lenders, and strategic partners.

Team Leadership

- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance organization.

- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Mentor finance leaders and support succession planning across the function.



Experience

- 20+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.

- Minimum 5 years in a CFO, Finance Director, or senior executive finance role.

- Robust experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, power generation, energy transition, or project finance sectors.

- Experience managing investor relations and board-level reporting.

Technical Skills

- Financial modeling and valuation.

- Corporate finance and capital markets.

- Treasury and cash flow management.

- Mergers and acquisitions.

- Risk management and financial controls.

- Renewable energy project economics.

- Accounting standards and regulatory compliance.

- ERP and financial reporting systems.
