Senior Manager - Health Information
& Communication Manager
Core Responsibilities
1. Patient Education & Health
Information Systems
â Design, validate and standardise
multilingual patient education resources across diagnosis, treatment,
survivorship, disability and palliative care.
â Ensure all content is medically vetted, ethically sound,
low-literacy friendly and suitable for high-stress settings.
â Enable patient navigators, social workers and educators with
structured toolkits, FAQs and counselling aids.
2. Advocacy & Policy Communication
â Translate clinical, programmatic and lived-experience
insights into explicit advocacy briefs, policy explainers and patient-rights
communication.
â Align CanKids’ advocacy language with national health
priorities and global childhood cancer frameworks.
â Support leadership with technically sound, evidence-based
communication for consultations and submissions.
3. Public Awareness & Health
Communication
â Conceptualise
and support public awareness campaigns
â Guide the scientific accuracy and
ethical framing of public awareness campaigns.
â Ensure storytelling balances emotional resonance with
factual integrity and dignity.
â Collaborate with design and digital teams to adapt health
content for diverse platforms.
Requirements
1. Training & State-Level Capacity
Building
â Design and institutionalise structured training for Health
Information & Communication Officers across State Coordination Centres.
â Develop training curricula, scripts and refresher modules to
ensure consistent and ethical communication.
â Lead induction and periodic refresher training using
scenario-based learning.
2. Health Helplines & Information
Response Systems
â Provide technical oversight for all health-information
helplines.
â Develop SOPs, triage frameworks, escalation pathways and
approved response scripts.
â Train teams in empathetic listening, distress management and
scope boundaries.
â Analyse helpline trends to inform education and advocacy
priorities.
3. Content Quality, Ethics &
Governance
â Act as custodian for accuracy, ethics and consistency of all
health-related content.
â Coordinate medical validation and periodic updates.
â Maintain content repositories, approvals and version
control.
â Support fact-checking and content
review for:
i. Annual and impact reports
ii. Donor and CSR communication
iii. Case studies or Testimonials
iv. External publications and
presentations
7. Internal Enablement & Collaboration
â Enable CEPAA and program
teams with:
â Health communication frameworks
â Ethical storytelling guidance
â Support hospitals, CHSUs and
Samanvay Kendras in contextual adaptation of approved materials
