Position Overview:

We are hiring
experienced, hands-on District Leads to activate and scale a
district-level ecosystem for skill education aligned with NEP 2020 and NCF
2023 across Maharashtra. The District Lead will be the primary bridge
between government departments (Education, Skill Development, Vocational
Education Boards), schools (government, private and aided), training partners,
local industry,



and community stakeholders. Your job is to coordinate
implementation, deliver training, monitor program quality, and catalyse local
partnerships so that students — especially grades 6–12 and out-of-school youth
— get relevant, competency-based skill learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities :

1.Program leadership & coordination

- Act as the district/division focal person
for all program activities; convene regular coordination meetings with
District Education Officer (DEO), DIET, District Skill Development Office,
Project Office of Tribal Development, Education Department of Municipal
Corporation, Zilla Parishad/District Collectorate and other government
functionaries.

- Map and onboard partner schools, training
centres, NGOs, industry partners and community stakeholders.

- Develop and maintain a district-level
implementation plan and calendar aligned with state guidance and NEP 2020
/ NCF 2023 priorities.

2.Training &
capacity building

- Plan and deliver Training of Trainers
(ToT), teacher upskilling, and capacity-building sessions for school
teachers, vocational trainers, and Block Resource Persons.

- Support headmasters to integrate
competency-based, experiential and assessment-aligned activities into
classrooms as per NCF 2023.

- Create and adapt training materials,
demonstration lessons

3.Implementation
& pedagogy

- Support schools to set up/upgrade skill
labs, guest lectures, field visits, internships, skill mela and vertical
mobility sessions.

- Facilitate alignment of curriculum,
learning outcomes and assessment practices with NEP 2020’s focus on
multidisciplinary and skill-linked learning.

- Promote inclusion (gender, disability,
socio-economic) in program design and delivery.

4.Coordination
& Partnerships- Ecosystem Development

- Build relationships with local
industries, MSMEs, skill training providers, ITIs, and PPP partners to
create internship/apprenticeship pipelines.

- Mobilise resources and local champions to
sustain program activities.

- Coordinate with District and Divisional
offices of Project office- Tribal Development, Collectorate, Skill Development,
Zilla Parishad, and contribute to district-level planning exercises.

- Support district/divisional level review
meetings, trainings, job fairs and events assigned by the State Manager

5.Communication
& Liaison

- Act as the primary communication link




between the State Program Team and district/division-level government
stakeholders.

- Communicate program plans, timelines,
approvals and expectations clearly to Field Officers, schools and
partners.

- Lead district review meetings and present
progress, challenges and recommendations in a structured manner.

- Ensure timely, accurate documentation and
reporting aligned with government protocols.

- Establish clear communication and
escalation mechanisms across the district.

6.Monitoring,
evaluation & reporting

- Set up simple, reliable monitoring
systems (attendance, competency checklists, lab utilization, guest
lecture, field visits, placement/internship records).

- Conduct periodic classroom visits, mock
assessments and performance reviews; provide actionable feedback to
schools and trainers.

- Maintain timely program reports, case
studies, photo documentation and district dashboards for the State Office.

7.Community
engagement & advocacy

- Organise community/stakeholder awareness
events, career counselling sessions for students, job fairs, internship
celebration and employer-school engagement forums.

Advocate for
school approvals, resource allocation and policy support at district/division
levels.

Requirements

Minimum Experience:

- 4–7 years of program implementation
experience in education, skill development, or livelihood programs —
preferably with government partnerships.

- Prior experience in Maharashtra with Government
functionaries is highly desirable.

- Strong track record of training,
stakeholder management and program monitoring.

- Proficiency in Marathi and English; basic
Hindi desirable.

Educational Background

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Engineering,
Vocational Education, Management or related field. Master’s preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing
skills with government officials and industry.

- Strong facilitation and teacher-training,
comfortable delivering Training of Trainers.

- Good project management: planning,
documentation, budgeting, and reporting.

- Problem-solver with a field-first,
flexible approach, multitasking, comfortable with travel and on-the-ground
troubleshooting.

- Data-driven: ability to use basic monitoring
tools, enter/interpret data.

- Commitment to equity and inclusive
education practices.

This role is :

- Field-based role with extensive travel inside/outside.the district and occasional weekend/after-hours events.

- Provision of a field allowance and mobile
& travel reimbursement (details to be shared in offer pack).

- The candidate must be willing to work
closely with government timelines and participate in state-driven reviews.
