ROLE OVERVIEW:
This role is with a specialist consulting practice focused on GST advisory, refunds, and litigation, which also operates an AI-enabled accounting software used by a wide client base. The position forms part of the GST & Compliance team and involves compliance execution, refund management, drafting of departmental responses, GST return filings, reconciliations, and client advisory queries. The role requires a Qualified Chartered
Accountant with hands-on GST experience and strong drafting skills with high accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
⢠End-to-end GST compliance: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and support for annual returns
⢠Prepare refund workings (exports, inverted duty structure, and other eligible claims)
⢠Submit refund applications on the GST portal and track status
⢠Draft replies to GST notices, SCNs, and DRC communications
⢠Perform GST reconciliations including 2A/2B and ledger matching
⢠Maintain audit-ready working papers and documentation
⢠Coordinate with clients for data, clarifications, and compliance requirements
⢠Support seniors on GST research, advisory matters, and litigation preparation
⢠Collaborate with product/AI team to improve compliance workflows
⢠Follow SOPs, compliance checklists, and internal quality controls
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
⢠CA qualification with minimum 1 year PQE in GST
⢠Strong knowledge of GST laws, returns, reconciliations, and refund procedures
⢠Practical experience drafting GST notices and SCN replies
⢠Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software
⢠Strong written communication and legal drafting skills
⢠Ability to manage deadlines and client communication professionally
Preferred Skills:
⢠Experience in CA firms or boutique GST advisory setups
⢠Exposure to GST audits or tribunal/litigation matters
⢠Experience working with automation or compliance tech tools
