Job Summary:
The Basketball Coach will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering effective basketball training programs for students. The role involves developing players’ skills, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while promoting a positive sporting culture in the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field (preferred).
- Prior experience coaching school or college basketball teams.
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Good communication, motivation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with students of varying skill levels.
- Passionate about youth development through sports.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct regular basketball practice sessions for students across different age groups.
- Teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills,
including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and game strategy.
- Identify and nurture talented players for school and inter -school competitions.
- Maintain discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of fair play among players.
- Prepare students for tournaments and manage team selection, training schedules, and game -day coordination.
- Monitor the fitness, performance, and progress of each player.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
- Promote participation in basketball and encourage physical fitness among students.
- Coordinate with the PE department and administration for scheduling games, practices, and events.
- Uphold safety standards and ensure a secure playing environment for all participants.
